Hopefully Chris grabs the VIN for the 69 registry and keeps a record of it, because it WILL get re bodied.

Good idea! It will be interesting to see it show up a year or two from now on a different car.

Ever hear "car's for sale in an envelope"?  Thankfully I don't see a fender tag.

bull

If it were a Hemi car the bidding would be at $12k by now.

Aw damn! There's no warranty!

Its no different than building the XP Hemi car. There is enough AMD sheet metal being made to rebuild the car.

ACUDANUT

Look at his other Charger he sold for 10K....Claims it has 8k worth of new sheet metal....Did he pay 5 times the price for sheet metal from AMD ?  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300499941404

At what point can you no longer call it "the car", as in "the car is sold as-is"?  That ad should read "for sale-4 good cinder blocks with big block Charger trim package". :D

He actually has detailed pics of his work he performed on the car.  Seems like a straight up guy.  The entire back end of the car was redone, and he does excellent work.  I don't have the link, but the amount of new sheet metal and work done to this car is exceptionally well done.  I don't doubt his claims at all.

No repro parts in those lower portions of the rear quarters & corner caps. That's a butcher job.

It's odd. If someone were to take the cowl, floors, and rails from that car and weld parts from a 318 parts car to them, it'd be a restoration. If someone welds the cowl from that car into a 318 car, it's a rebody even though the end result is the same.

69charger2002

if the 318 car didn't need the cowl welded in, why would you take an R/T and do it anyway? you can never justify "needing" to change over numbers from an R/T to a 318 car, it just shouldn't happen. period.

If you did it to a 318 car it would still be a rebody.  The difference is that you would be able to reasonably make the argument that the only reason for doing it would be sentimental attachment to the 318 car.  99% of the RT rebodies are done for profit.

MoparManJim

If you took the stuff from the R/T car and put it on the 318, the story would be different because with the 318 being almost nothing special and the R/T one being something even though there both made from the same stuff really. It would a different story because the 318 is less and with the R/T stuff going it, your are or are like trying to bring the 318 up alot more then what it really is or was.

It don't look that bad,...be a good starting point for building one of these, the roof is already gone, not needed anyway
