In regards to the head light vacuum harness that came out a couple years ago . I did a group buy on them when they first came out.

Just an FYI, to anyone who needs one better grab it quick. I was told today once current  inventory is depleted there will not be another run. This applies to the Superbird/ Daytona vacuum harness , both the 70 + 1971/72 airgrabber hood harness's  and all the underdash a/c control vacuum harness's

68-69 Charger kits are already gone and the Superbird/Daytona kit is being sold in it's place ,once it's gone there will be no more

Awww, man. I gave mine up because there were so many orders and now I don't have a set for either car. Bummer.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Great post Bill. I was just on the phone with Kent last week about this issue and he stated he had about 40 sets of Daytona/Superbird kits left and when those were gone that was the end of it. I was lucky to be able to get a set that one of my customers desperately needed. I'd be willing to bet that those will be gone before this week is over and this will definately leave a void of a sorely needed part of any 68-69 Charger/Daytona/Superbird resto.

There is an extra length of hose for the nose on the superbirds and daytonas.

One would think,

But once intital demand wavered after they were released.Sales dropped, same as anything else. Case in point. When these came out about 3 years back . I did a group buy and sold maybe 20 sets, but probably haven't sold  5 or 6 sets since.

The company producing the special ribbed hose had issues in part of the manufacturing process where the stripes were put on the exterior of the hose and no longer wishes to do them at all.
So my supplier has been trying for over a year to find someone else to do this part of the operation without much  success. So he's called it quits and once inventory is gone, thats it

Bill,

Is this just for the vacuum hoses that are under the hood?  What about under dash vacuum hoses?

This kit ( shown above ) is from the headlight switch on the backside of the dash, thru the firewall( firewall grommet included )  all the way forward to the headlight door actuators

All of the currently produced striped vacuum harness are on the chopping block.
Including the charger  - superbird/daytona headlight vacuum harness's, both versions of the Air grabber hood harness's, and all the A/C box underdash harness's

Chatt69chgr

OK Bill----This kit is from the headlight switch, thru the firewall, and out to the way to the headlight door actuators.  I got that kit from you when you first started selling these.  Now, is there another kit for the A/C box underdash harness's?  I didn't see it on your website.  If so, what's the part number and price.

Bill,
Do you have any of these kits for sale? Who sells them? I need one for my Charger and would like to get a new set before they are no longer available.

I've never sold or even been asked for one, thus never stocked either one.

pt number is VHK7 for 1970 B-body a/c box  kit - $170

pt # for the 68-69 B-body a/c box kit is VHK6 - $150

No,none, nadda, the fat lady has sung and left the building

bull

So basically the whole thing was scuttled because someone got tired of putting a yellow stripe on one of the hoses? Seems to me that's kind of a lame reason to completely stop production. I imagine some people would still buy these sets, even without the yellow stripe. I would if that's all I could get but then I was one of those first 20 buyers you talked about. Heck, just include a yellow paint pen with the set (that's kinda the way Wheel Vintiques handles their peeling wheel paint).

I believe PG classic has done or used to do  a generik version of these. But even they are gone I believe.

This is a problem with anything reproduction. Once demand dies off it becomes very cost restrictive to do another production run . Most items need a production run of at least 250 pieces, sometimes less , usually more.
When items are so application specific it makes it even more unlikely.

Here an example.
I've looked into having the bracket that mounts to the pass side inner fender produced. The one for 1969 B-bodies only, with factory air only. and by all accounts it's just not cost effective to produce due to such a low demand. unless it could be retailed in the $50 - $60 range each, which I have serious doubts would sell
