Yes. But note that the crawler transporter underneath moves it from one place to another.

  Our nation is broke...What's worse is that we are paying Russia hundreds of Millions of dollars now to take us to the space station, which WE supplied 90 percent of it.  And for what ???? :shruggy:
BTW Hubble has taken the greatest pic's of places we can never visit.

Yes, I retired from crane rental.  The tracks are what had me curious as to how it was launched.  When those things launch the heat would disintegrate any & all hydraulic hoses used for the automatic levelers so I was curious if some part of the pad disengaged from the shuttle or how it all worked. 

Your links helped to explain part of it, thanks. 

That would have been a dream job for me.  I always enjoyed working with giant size machinery.
