Good choices!  Good for you.  Most europeans only want to do L.A., New York and Disney World so they miss some great stuff.

You might find that the only pieces of real 66 left are in Arizona and New Mexico.  But, I'm sure there are others on the board that are closer or have actually driven it.

If you travel whats left some is in pretty bad shape and takes you on and off the new highway constantly.  Y need a route 66 map so you can exit a lot. If you did the whole road it would take forever but it is pretty cool. I did a lot of it from Topeka Kansas to the east coast. I veered off a lot because of time restaints. Here is my link if your interested. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,48739.0.html

You probably meant Tulsa, Oklahoma rather than Topeka, and in your cool road-trip thread you went west rather than east.  No biggie.

Old Rt. 66 goes through my area in Missouri, although some of the local original stretches of road are gone and you can't just hop on it and drive cross-country (it's no longer continuous).

I'd love to drive the southwest parts someday.

I live in Topeka and left from here. Yeah like i was saying as well you have to exit off the main roadways if you want to hit the short stretches that are left of it  :2thumbs:
