recognize this nosecone

Hi, been enjoying the board and learning alot from you guys. Hope I'm doing this right, tried posting this a few times and kept getting error messages. Think it may have been my photos?? No luck with a valance from dayclona, not even a return call. Getting one from Janak for now. So maybe one of you guys can recognize the steel nosecone that came with my car. It seems to be very nice, a friend of mine is a tinsmith and said whoever did it did a nice job. Anybody recognize it? Thats the first thing I'm looking for help with.  I did take a width measurement and from corner to corner, on the top (trying to line up with the crease)it appears to be 67-1/8" and from the lip that the latch tray bolts to to the lip that the valance bolts to is 17-1/4"  You can also see that there are no holes drilled for the spoiler or license plate bracket -- anyone have some exact measurements for these? I do have a Patik spolier. Did all Daytonas come with license plate brackets installed? Do I have to drill the holes for a lic. plate bracket for it to be correct? Though I'm not in a rush, the build date of the car is 6-2, anyone with an HP motor that would be correct for it?  Also, if by some strange chance my buildsheet is out there it's #400592 i'm looking for.  Thanks for the help and call if you like (716)549-1756

Gene Gregory was early on doing metal noses and selling them through motor city original around 1990 For $3000.00

So if that is one of Gene's cones, how accurate is it?

From what I recall from a friend who bought and installed .Needed some tweaking the early ones.Later they were better

So if this is one from the 90's, how do I tell if this one needs the "tweaking"?  Also, do you know what needs to be modified? width, height, etc?

wayne's silver daytona has a gregory nose from the late 80's where he hit a deer

   One thing to keep in mind is that the original (and also GG's) cones are fabricated with 4 separate panels welded together and we do not know what the accepted tolerance for the cones were back in 69. Keeping this in mind, we DO know that the accepted dimensional tolerance in the original 69 chassis manual right from chrysler was 1/4"!!! I would think that an original cone (or GG's or JM's for that matter) that fit perfect on one car may not even be close on a car right beside it.
   I think you just need to hang your fenders, hood and bolt up the nose and valence and "see for yourself" as to how much tweaking is needed. There is PLENTY of adjustment as evidenced by the slotted holes in the mounting points of all the above components and in many cars this is still not enough. The amount of allowable adjustment built into these front ends is enough to drive us crazy!
