Long ago, I would grouse about the winter snow and then I came to the conclusion that since I'm not moving out of this area I might as well find something to do during the winter that was fun. I discovered snowmobling in 1998 & haven't regretted it at all. These funny machines take us on adventures to see sights that we'd never see during the other three seasons. I took my oldest & youngest out for the first time this season last weekend in NH and we rode 50 miles on Saturday & 92 miles on Sunday. The 92 mile trip takes the better part of a day & it's great family fun.  :2thumbs:

I've had 2 RX1's & got rid of them both in favor of the 3 cylinder models. Currently, I have 2 Ventures & 2 Rages. Sure the RX1 iwas a rocket, but because it had so much power, I didn't think it was a good trail sled, mainly due to the throttle being so responsive; the slightest touch & it would take off & you'd always have kind of a herky-jerky ride. On and off the throttle constantly. But flat outon a lake the RX1 was great! I find that the 3 cyl throttle doesn't have that issue & plus the steering'is definately lighter. For the type of driving we do, these machines work out just fine.

Good point.   :2thumbs:  Once i quit spending all my money on my Charger maybe i can save up for a newer sled.  For now i'm rocking the '73 GP338.  :icon_smile_big:   :icon_smile_big:

Paul, I gotta tell you that flying an antique airplane, on skis, in winter, is probably more fun if you're going to keep your clothes on anyways.  It uses about the same amount of gas, but maybe not quite as fast as today's snowmobiles.

We used to park near the sleds on some of the lakes when we'd stop for a hot cider.  A friend of mine used is plane to land on otherwise "private" lakes and do some great fishing just north of St. Paul.

I think its a cool ride, looks to be in good condition, but you should switch the 8 and 3 to make it a 383.  :icon_smile_wink:

Went out with my youngest on Saturday. Temps were in the mid-teens; not too bad.

looks like fun. but not for me. water is cold and snowmobiles cost a lot to fix when they sink. but looks like fun :drool5:

I hate the cold and snow. You are making the best of it though.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
