BPE transmission kick down adjustment

I have the above kickdown attached to my new 440 build and I can't seem to get the adjustment 100% on. Boucillon says to push in the black button on the inside part of the cable near the carb and slide the cable. I tried this with a pair of pliers due to the how hard the button is to push in and I can't get the cable to go towards the firewall anymore. Just wandering if anyone has any ideas on how to get this kickdown cable dialed in.

Thanks,

FLG

On my stock kickdown setup I simply went on an abandoned st and did a bunch of wot runs until it shifted at where I wanted it to.  :shruggy:

terrible one

You're right, it is hard to press that button! So, you were able to get it to adjust though, using the pliers? And you just ran our of adjustment? In that case, I'd say that your only option would be to get their adjustable throttle plate. That's what I used and it was an absolute breeze to set up. Maybe, and hopefully, I'm wrong though. I just can't recall if there was any means of adjusting the cable on the transmission end?

Got it all figured out. I adjusted the bracket holding the outside of the cable. Shifts great.
