found this satellite I had a friend of mine mention seeing an old road runner in the woods at a guys house he was selling a truck to, so i went to check it out this is what i found 71 satellite originally a 383 now a 440 the guy wants to take the 440 out cause he says its worth $5000 and then he is gonna sell the body. He says its a Road Runner Satellite because its a 383 car and a console auto and says it has one them dana semi posi rear ends (actually a 9 1/4) he also showed me his 318 Hemi he had in a old dodge car that had been converted into a truck, he knows its a hemi cause he had a guy come by and tell him it was :eyes:

Sorry, but that first pic isn't a poly 318....It's an old Dodge Poly, prolly more like 326 poly...Not a Bad engine per say, but not an early Hemi either...

Thing that gets me with the Early Hemi's is people will swear they have a $5000.00 Hemi, only to find out it's a 276 Cu. In. Industrial engine out of an old Ice Cream vendor truck...Valves the size of dimes and pistons that are smaller than a Briggs and Stratton 5 HP....

A 383 could come in a Satellite in 1971. It could also be equipped with a console. It could also have an 8-1/4 (what is thought to be a 9-1/4) behind that 383/727 console. Nothing special really, just a Satellite Sebring or perhaps a Satellite Sebring Plus.

I knew it was a 383 2bbl satellite you can tell that by the vin but the rear is a 9 1/4 someone transplanted it had the tapered axle tubes,9 1/4 housing cover.

Right on!   Very close! I'm from Union County, right at the very bottom center of the state. El Dorado to be exact. Up here in Kansas right now though for school.

Good, tell him to yank that engine & you'll give him $120.50 for the rest. :icon_smile_wink:
Just the BS alone pretty much devalues anything in the pics. :image_294343:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
