Charger Reliability

Hi! First post here.
I have been driven Japanese car since I know how to drive. But for my next car, I am thinking of a Charger R/T or SRT-8, for two obvious reasons: roomy back seats for my kids and of course, performance for myself.

But, as usual, reliability is my major concern, need your input here.

Could someone tell me how many unscheduled visits do you have to pay to your dealer since you own your Charger? not counting any accident-related ones. How much is the repair cost? And what kind of problem was that?

Any input is welcomed. Thanks!

Sorry, I should be more clear, I am referring to the new 06-present 4 door Chargers.

This site is about 1966 to 1974 Chargers. A few people here have these LX Coronets that you speak of so it's possible you'll get a responce.

Oh, and by the way welcome.

Welcome to the site. From what i've seen the 06+ charger R/T and SRT-8's have been very reliable, without too many issues. But you have to remember even 06's with normal mileage are only hitting 60-70k miles.. still too early to know if they will have any problems down the road, as not too many have made it to 100k plus miles yet. Good luck in your search.
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around

Oh, and by the way welcome.

Where is that posted? Great way to welcome new people.

Anyway, at the risk of upsetting some here, I've had my LX CHARGER since 2/08 and have had zero issues with it except for the less than warm welcome by a few around here. It's a great car and you should be happy with it in every respect. Power, performance, handling, brakes. All top notch. Good luck

Welcome to the forum!
Check out http://www.lxforums.com/ . You will find many people with over 100k miles on the 3rd gen Chargers. My wife owned a 2006 RT Charger with no issues and now drives a 2007 SRT8 300 with 0 problems.

C'mon guys, be nice,  :icon_smile_tongue:
I've had my 06 Charger R/T since new. No problems, very reliable. Handles well, sounds good, gets reasonable gas milege, and pulled a 14.2 in the quarter.
Fun car to drive, and is a great hwy cruiser.
Only had to do scheduled maintainance & oil changes.

My wife has an 08 R/T (with the hemi) and my twenty five year old daughter bought a SXT (V6 3.5) as her first car after graduating from college. That was her decision over the Accord.  They haven't had any problems yet and I get to use my wife's when we go somewhere together.  Love the car regardless of the name.  Would have another if it weren't for the Hemi Ram that I use.
