So, during Christmas holidays i decided to install a stereo in the Charger. I put a set of 6X9's in the rear and installed the front speakers in the cold air vent boxes. Here is a couple of pics.

First three pics are the driver side.

So, you can't open the fresh air vents now because of the speakers??

Works wonders!

I have a full sweep temp & oil psi gauge there....I have them mounted upside down so I read the needle easier....out of the casual lookers view but can be easilly seen by the driver

Do you actually use the air vent function?

Dunno... I think what I would have done is make a sealed housing for grill replacement purpouse mounting there the speaker and keep it "bafled" ( thinking as a sound guy LOL )

or using a donor vent grill and seal it, mounting there the speaker

tough decision... correctness look and functionally use of the vent mind vs sound guy mind LOL

Not sure what you mean by keeping it bafled?
The vent is intact but cannot open it, I'm in Canada so we don't need cold air vents.  :icon_smile_wink:

Nacho-RT74

bafle it... get in enclosured

The sound ( specially lower frequencies ) goes to front and rear when the cone moves... but rear are 180º out of phase... when the rear sound gets to front may cancel some frequencies... not totally, but some.

everything depends on reflections etc...

also a bafle reinforces the front sound.

Blah blah... just being picky on sound...LOL

6X9's fit in the rear no problem, the front speakers are 5 1/4.
