replacing front end dust boots

I'll be replacing the front end dust boots on the steering linkage - tie rod ends, idler arm and pitman arm.

does the front end need to be jacked up or can I leave the wheels on the ground?

it doesn`t need to be raised but it would seem to be easier to get under the car with it up , going wit rubber or Poly boots ?

:iagree: Why are you just doing the boots anyway? Are the joints still allright?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

car that sit a lot will rot the boots with no damage to the joints but definatly check them too

I'll check the joints while I'm at it, but most all of the boots were rotted away

I just went with rubber boots but I'm replacing rubber bushings with poly as I go through the car

I'm assuming that I should clean everything with brake cleaner?

can`t hurt just make sure grease it again after the new boots are installed
