I have been serching for a good RTA analisis/reference microphone, but some of them of the GOOD ones like DPA or Beyer MM1 are out of range for me.

in counter part, I found one very affordable, DBX piece

your thoughts about these againts more expensive ones ?... I could get two of these, one of them for local resale.

Hey, to be honest, that DBX will do the job; however, what scared me is that no matter how hard I looked I could not find a frequency response chart!  I personally went with with Earthworks M23, a little spendy, I know, however, it was worth it to me to have the best and have the frequency response of my specific mic.

wow.... $450-500 range... no way... DPA and MM1 are less of that and I can't go with them yet LOL. I have to be sure I can GET MONEY with the basic hardware/software required to make some analysis job... then go with next step

nice frequency response chart though ( from 9 hz!!! ), sure beats the 20 hz of the DBX... and some others too LOL

I'm thinking to get also the E-mu 1616 interface ( locally, missed Power suply what bough a few minutes ago in $26 shipped to Fl ), to use with my Laptop and Smaart software ( and some others too ) already instaled in my laptop.

I have found Behringer reference mic too in half of the DBX, but, what can I say... with some exceptions, Behringer equipments has been getting some quality issues latelly.

Whatever you gotta do to get going man! I will be honest, I don't know if I could trust either but I do believe that I could at least find the Behringer frequency response chart when I was looking, IRC.  Also, Behringer may be doing a little "borrowing" from Midas/KT (if you hadn't heard they are owned by the same company nowadays).

Last time I was able to be behind a Midas being in charge it was allmost when the XL250 was released LOL ( BACK IN 1998-99 )

( 20 subs plus master, being on charge of monitoring and stage logistic... its simply LOVELLY )

hard to find info about, but it looks is focused for Equator control monitor speakers like a driverack for them. I don't need that ( software is pretty much interesting though )

Honestly, the frequency response of my mic is better than that and if you do the research, the QTC1 they used isnt even a reference microphone... If you wanted when I finally get back home I could show you the specific frequency response of my M23 that wont be until the end of the month tho, im touring in the Netherlands currently!

I'm jelous now... don't you need a helper ? LOL

I got a nice quote for the M23.... $410.42 plus shipping ( to Fl ), WAAAAY BETTER than European prices, Better than MSRP and a little better than the best on line shop I could find on the web ( B&H )

The problem is, they don't take foreigns cards or paypal. They onle deal inside USA.

soooo, I'm working on it.

Sorry, we've got the tech side covered.

The quote for the M23 is not bad at all, if you don't need to spend that kinda money then you don't need to; remember, the average human can't hear changes less than 3 decibels so if you try to get a mic that's within +/-3 db, you should still be relatively safe.
