how to remove damper?

im taking my 440 down and for the life of me i cant remember how to take the damper off. i feel like an idiot for asking but i actually wanna get something accomplished today.

Rent, or purchase a Harmonic Balancer Puller.

Some even come with an installer for when you are ready to re-install it.

It's "keyed" on. Just remove the damper bolt and washer. Then you can use a damper puller or make your own. I used a piece of 1/4" steel with holes through it to attach it to the pulley mounting holes. Then thread a hole in the center of the plate for a long jack bolt.

But you probably knew that once you read the "keyed on" part. :D

yeah im an idiot i totally forgot i bought a puller pretty much as soon as i went back in the cellar i remembered. oh well dampers off and the cams out. now for the pistons and crank!
