I'm curious about that too.  They're straight-through so they should breathe well and there is a lot of variation in sound depending on length, how they're installed, where they exit, and whether they've been "F'd" with or not.  I have heard some mellow ones and some very deep and aggressive sounding glasspacks.

Glasspacks are better then flowmasters deffenetly! I hate how my 68 with the 440 sounds with flowmasters. :no:

don't  know what make of  !! but  when i  got my charger it had straight through pipes with factory tips  no cross over , hp manifolds &  glass packs , they were  about 18" long & 4" diameter , one each side in  the stock muffler location !!  second owner said he had them  put on backwards ,for performance !!  better reversed  or something !!   :shruggy:      sounded one mean muther though !!  love that sound !!!   :yesnod: :coolgleamA:    :yesnod:

i guess i should have been more specific

i put the glasspack on my 1992 Plymouth Acclaim...the Charger is getting side pipes.
2.5 4 cylinder with the catalytic converter still there. ive looked up videos of other Acclaims with glasspacks and they sounded good but mine just sounds like its got the OEM muffler on it.

I still have an unused set of Walker Continentals. Used to run them on all my cars, loved how they sound. Don't have to do anything to them but bolt them on. Had a set on a 70 Charger (383HP) when I first joined the Navy. My neighbors out in San Diego hated them. My Super Bee had a new set of Flowmasters on it when I first bought them, I wasn't all that impressed with the sound. I like loud, but then again I'm half deaf from all the loud I've been exposed to throughout the years.

the OEM cat is very restrictive. i ran a 89 W150 with straight pipe after the cat. sounded only slightly louder than stock.

if it has a turbo, it is even quieter. the muffler is there to kill all the sound.

on my GLH turbo, i ran straight pipe. there was only a drone at highway cruise. i installed a borla race muffler to fix that problem.
