lets say I can get a forged 383 crank, with the correct damper to fit on my 400 block, replacing the cast assembly. Will I have some issue with the pulley I already have on my car ?

Depending on the year of the pulley, you might need to elongate one of the mounting holes

Mancini has that crank pulley spacer with the offset hole.

Ok, yes I'm aware about maybe the elongation on one of the holes if getting a mids 69s damper/crank

Yes bull I have heard bout the spacers, but damn, I'm trying to get locally LOL, simply a plug and play job. If I have to get parts from USA preffer get a new HiPo damper, and save of any custom job over simply fits the pieces.

The only BB damper that should have for/aft spacing problems is the Hemi, all Wedges have the pulley mounting surface in the same position.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

correct, I just ran into this .
Aftermkt crank dampner doesn't have the offset hole like the OE one does. So I had to elongate one pulley hole to line everything up

I think the later cast crank motors -  the lower pulley doesn't have this one offset hole like earlier ones did

Nacho-RT74

yes, but I a little bit harder try to get a stock damper with the non offset hole, right ? lees pieces made due the production years I think. I'll have to fit whatever I find locally
