Small Blk to Big Block Electronic conversion

Gentlemen, I believe I have successfully converted a BB POINTS distributor to electronic using SB parts...

No pics as of yet, but I first removed the little PITA clip inside under the rotor button to remove the top section, then removed everything...
Then, I simply transfered  the Electronic Advance "plate" to the BB points mounting plate that bolts to the housing.
Then, I installed the top section from the SB distributor into the BB distributor and reinstalled the vaccum advance unit for the BB...
I used the BB points weights and the SB top section with the advance slots in it...The BB Distributor still retains it's old tag with part number for points distributor....



I wonder have any of you guys attempted this and if so, how did it do? I think it'll work...

I tried it years ago....didn't work for me....nothing lined up right....everything was "a little off"

maybe it was "operator error"

I always thought the circumference of the fins (contact point) were different between SB  and BB   :shruggy:
