Back in 96 I bought a used A/C & Heater control assembly from Totally Auto. I have finally got around to trying to make the controls work the proper actuator valves with no luck. I checked the part number. For my 71 I should have part # 3431127 according to my 70-71 parts manual. Instead the heater assembly # is 3431571. I can not find this part number anywhere. It seems that the seven vacuum ports on the side don't correlate with the diagram in my parts manual, unless this heater assembly is also no good like my old one.

In many cases the number stamped on the part isn't the actual part number, if the part number for the stamped number 3431571 is 3431572 it is a supercede for 3431127.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

John, checked my parts manual again. The 3431127 number was good until April 71, after that it was superceded by #3431572, one number off from the number stamped on the part. Seems like a good chance that it is the correct part. Either way it sucks because I got all the vacuum lines hooked up and the heater system is still not working properly.
I do have 15+ inches of vacuum coming in from the reservoir tank.
