Well.... I hate to say it but Ive been in the hospital with my wife since Wed morning at 6 AM.  Nothing to worry about, everyone is doing well.   :2thumbs:  And by everyone I mean including the new BABY!!!!!!  So at 4 AM on Wed morning, my wife starts having contractions.  At 5:15 she decides to wake me up and tell me the news and ask me what she should do.  Being that I am a police dispatcher and NOT a doctor, I urge her to call her doctor and find out what she should do.  Contractions at this point were like every 10 mins and not that bad.  Shortly after 6 AM we arrive at Morristown Memorial Hospital and they check her out, her doctor sees her, and they schedule her for a C section.  Mind you, we had a C section already scheduled for a couple days later.  I guess baby Riley had different plans for us.  At 9:30 AM they wheel my wife into the OR to perform the C section and after 3 attempts at trying to do a spinal tap and not getting it in, they decide to do an epidoral.  Twice they tried and still couldnt get it in.  Doctor comes out and tells me the news and says that they have to put her totally under in order to do the C section.  Mind you my wife does not do well with annestesia.  So after they do that, they said I should be able to go in once they take out the baby.  Should be about 10 mins.  45 mins goes by and I still havent heard anything.  Now Im starting to get that bad feeling that something went wrong in my gut and usally when I get that feeling when I am on a 911 call or something like that at work, its usually right.  So now Im really nervous and paranoid and start to pace like the typical worried expecting father.  The nurse passes by and sees me and shockingly said, "you're still out here?!?!?"  I was like, yup!  So she goes in and comes back out and says come with me.  We then go to the waiting room where the baby comes out and gets cleaned up.  My daughter still isn't there.  Now Im still worried and all of a sudden a nurse comes running out, gets some kinda medicine from the refrig and goes running back in.  So now Im even more concerned and then they bring out my daughter who is all blueish purple.  They get her cleaned up and and then we are off to the nursery admitting where they put her under a warmer to bring her temp up to keep her warm.  Her color is now normal and she is doing well.  Born at 10:33 AM on 12/29/10 6 lbs 8 oz. and 20 inches long with a 13 inch head.  The nurse comes in and tells me that my wife should be out and into recovery in about another 5-10 mins so in that time Im still in the nursery.  Made all the calls I needed to so the whole family knows the news.  I leave Riley in the nursery with the nurses and head back down to the recovery room.  Jen still isnt out of the OR.  About another 20 mins goes by and they finally wheel her out.  Because of having to put her under, they had to end up using staples vs. the stitches like they originally had said.  So, even though there were problems, at least she is out and in recovery doing well.  Today she is still sore but able to get up and walk around.  With any luck we will be going home tomorrow :2thumbs:

Are you driving them home from the hospital in the Charger?  :D

My wife Mary had a c-section too, & I was in there the whole time. She was talking to the anesthesiologist during the procedure about motorcycles while I watched the c-section being done. Not something for anyone who might get grossed out by the sight of blood, but I thought it was pretty cool. Kind of like watching the Discovery Channel without a recliner & a cold beer.
