That customer often shows up at my shop driving Eurotrash.
Funnily enough whenever a BMW, Volvo, Peugeot or Audi driver pulls in I'm suddenly "booked out" for 2-3 weeks
Gotta love a '69

Oh man, that was so refreshing to hear someone else knows what these idiots are like! Geeesh, That is almost word for word how it goes down...

Classic!

Seems to like a full moon.  His whole family comes out the day after Thanksgiving.

I have to admit it... I have been THAT customer MANY TIMES... ( the diff is that I usually know what I'm talking LOL )

I know him well also. Boy did it have that guy pegged.

You're right! Word for word! That's too funny. I've been to the dealership as that guy, but I actually did the diagnostic work first and went in there knowing what the heck I was talking about. I hate when junior walks in and starts with that stuff. ....and yeah, I show him the front door.
Speed\'s expensive, how fast do you want to go?

I meet that guy and his brothers alot    :smilielol:

Yeah I met HER.

Her - Can you put in a fan motor in cuz my heater don't work

Me - Sure

Her - It still don't work because it blows cold now

Me - I put a fan motor in because it didn't blow and that's what you wanted

Her - You should have noticed it blows cold now

Me - I didn't drive the car, I just put in the blower motor

Her - I still can't drive the car because I get cold and my windows don't defrost either

Me - It will cost more money, you need a heater valve, heater core may be plugged etc.

Her - I don't have anymore money

Me - You also don't have tags and insurance

Her - I know but I will work on that later, do you take any sexual favors for trade

Me - No, my wife likes me to work on a cash baises only ..... :smilielol:

Her - Bitch!

Me - See ya

I used to see that guy quite a bit when I had a shop.
When they finally leave they bad-mouth you to everyone that will listen, but it's worth it just to get rid of them.
I've also met his twin brother. The guy who can't afford to spend much money getting his car to run because he spent all his money on his new stereo/wheels/ground effects/paint job/etc.

Cooter

I actually have been down that road ONCE in my 20 or so years working on cars...Hadda "Lady" come in and ask for all kinds of high dollar work on here POS, and when it came time for the quote on how much, she began to ask "Is there anything I can do iin "trade Wink,Wink," for this bill?"

I will NEVER forget what my boss at the time who had been doing it alot longer said....I still laugh about this one to this day....

"Well, I guess I could but I'd have to try it first, and if I don't like it, you still owe me"....

Yep, dealt with that guy a few times.

It's no better working in a fleet shop with drivers as "cutomers". I had a driver come in about 7 years ago and tell me that his battery box cover had "fell off" goin down the road. So I say "come on, let's go look" When I got up the trailer far enough to see the cab I busted out horse laughing this idiot. The battery box cover was missing alright, he had jacked the truck around so hard that the trailer peeled the top of 2 batteries off! If I'd had a camera phone then......

Parts customers are just as bad, come in and buy a part and then come back mad as hell that I sold them the wrong part that they asked for!

Makes for some good stories though.
