Colorado couple's Christmas present: 1919 Dodge used in "It's a Wonderful Life"

JOHNSTOWN – The car used in the holiday classic movie "It's a Wonderful Life" cruised into northern Colorado Friday, the day before Christmas.

It's the 1919 Dodge that Jimmy Stewart's character, George Bailey, plowed into a tree, starting him on the adventure that helped him discover his importance to his community.

Keith Smith, 71, of Johnstown bought the car from a California couple earlier this year. Prior to being in a private collection, the car was displayed at Harrah's National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nev.

"I can't believe I actually own it," Smith said.

That is a unique car to have.    I'm glad to hear it is still around.
