Toyota quality -----FUNNY AS HELL

Ford sells the most trucks because they are 6-8k less then chebby or Dodge. I have owned Dodge trucks and vans for the last 25 years and other than the cheap interior parts breaking apart, they have proven to be strong and reliable. My daily driver is a '06 Ram with the 5.7l hemi. It drives great, pulls a trailer like a dream and gets pretty good fuel mileage. My '55 pickup has a '03 hemi drive train that had 120k miles on it when I put it in. Still going strong.

The toyota is just another Japanese copy of a real vehicle. More proof that Americans will buy things on hype rather than fact. In the 80s honda and toyota made a better quality econo car. That legacy clouds people's minds. Way more people have died from the toyota throttle flaw then ever died in a ford pinto crash. But toyota spends millions on spin campaigns and marketing and the average buyer gets all of their info from the TV. I get sick watching toyota ads telling me how they are spending millions on safety and how their technology is helping high school football teams and other BS. Flawed toyota technology killed Americans. They knew it and tried to cover it up.

I watched the video and although there is some ford bias, it looked fair to me. What they are showing was at least a real test.

I hear all the time "Toyota/Honda ... they last forever".  Who ever started that farce is a genius, because some people really believe it.
If they last forever, where are all the 70's and 80's Toyota's and Honda's?  They're not around my area.  They've rusted away to nothing just like any other vehicle.
They don't last any longer than anything else well taken care of today.

I grant you Ford won the course their truck was designed to drive on and I was pretty surprised by the Toyota   . However, 95% of Americans never touch the dirt with their trucks/SUVs let alone a dry river bottom (lets add some water and retest). So bottomline is which truck will still be driving to get groceries at 100,000, 150,000 and then 200,000 miles?

I don't know, I have had a Toyota 4x4 PU that got 185,000 and last I checked on Carfax, was at 230,000, a Toyota corolla that I'm still using as my daily driver with 165,000 on the clock. I only changed the clutch on the truck and the front brakes on the corolla.

Did anyone else notice the gas cap door trying to fly open on the dodge when it was going thru the speed bumps.

That toyota was a shocker.  I mean that box!  WOW WHAT A BOX!  Could it ever move, how many of us could keep up with a box like that.  Scary!!

I'm trying not to open a can of worms here, but one very important element of offroad performance is flexibility. Toyota 4x4 vehicles have outperformed *All* American brands since day one, at every size and price point. Part of the reason is chassis articulation. 

Anybody here ever driven both a Toyota Hilux and a Ford Ranger 4x4?

No wonder most of the cars in the repair shops are imports

My Dodge Ram pickup manual says change the rear diff fluid every 12K...pretty crazy. My AT went out a 30K

I've always said if I ever by a truck it would be the Tacoma.  Don't know if it's the looks or the commercials got to me.

I would love a new Tundra if they were in my price range, but if I were going to spend that much money on a truck it would have 10 wheels and a 13 speed. My old 96 F350 Powerstroke just turned 78000. I imagine it will be around for awhile.

Problem is that your C-6 was behind a smaller hp/tq rated engine than what is in your Dodge. Torque is a tranny killer

Would be willing to bet if it was behind a cummins it would probably hold up all the same.
