Found this on youtube.  With all the hype about Toyota I find this video f'ing hilarious.  I've been a truck guy for my whole life and when Toyota came into the truck market, there was so much hype about how the "quality" of the new Tundra was so much better than Dodge, Chebby and Ford.

I love this video...

Toyota should stick to building cheap econo boxes ie Corolla, Matrix, echo, etc. Leave trucks to big three

What a shock. A bunch of Ford guys tested four trucks and determined that Ford wins it all, hands down. Not even close.

well F150 has been #1 best selling truck for years, that's a fact.

I just love to see how the Tundra got the crap beat out of it.  If Toyota wants to play in the sand box with the big three, they should have put something better together.

The fuel video is a BS video.  Surprise that the Ram with the most HP goes the shortest distance.  Tell us something we don't know.   Based on the video, the Toyota was the worst in each class, then Chebby.

No matter what you have you will find people dogging the competition.  Proof was in the durability test though... Fully stuff. :smilielol:

I've owned everything.  Each one has it's place.  The Ultimate truck would be the Ford frame, Cummings engine, with an Allison trans. :2thumbs:

I've had a Ford that was a lemon, a Dodge that was a lemon, and issues with a Chevy.  It's nice to see how the technology has improved A LOT the last 5 years for all 3.   :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Interesting stuff.  Good video.  I can understand why Ford made it, because they worked hard to make sure their trucks would win.  Looked fool proof and honest to me.  :shruggy:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

damn that Toymotor  truck looked like it would split in half doing a few silver creeks  :o

My friend purchased a fully loaded tundra last year. It seems nice, but it looked pretty crappy here. I'll make sure I don't show him this video lol. I'm not a truck guy at all but if chevy, dodge, and yota had fairy creek or whatever that place is called to test their trucks on as the engineers work on them I'm sure they would have done better.

Honda has a "truck" as well. I don't see it here guys. Oh wait, maybe cause its underpowered pos. And like they say "if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch!"

Thats because they sell cheap crappy trucks. Lots of people want cheap over quality.
You arent going to find a Dodge or Chevy half ton for 14000$ new anywhere.

Interesting video, but each manufacturer could probably each make one that would make their truck look good...   Well, except Toyota!   :nana:   :hah:

I think the ideal musclecar would be the Charger frame, powered by the Charger engine, with the Charger tranny.

 Now Silver is parroting Ford ads. Do they use the same engine in the F150 as they do in your 4-second Mustang?

Reading Mike Rowes name in the title of the video is about as far as I got. There all just nuts and bolts, all break sooner or later and all seem to have there own special place they like to rust. Fords over the rear wheels, Toyotas in the rear frame area, Chebbies on the rockers and Dodges wherever there's a body panel.

Cooter

I can tell you this with thenew mandated MDS on the Chebbies and the rest now to try and squeeze the last drop of mileage out of these trucks, you will have far more problems to deal with than a frame issue....2010 Chebbies have finally messed up the LS motor..Tha select cyl. kill sh*t is destroying engines.....Less than 40K on a new Chevy a buddy has and the dealer is installing a new engine as we speak....
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"

I believe the stiffer Ford frame in the videos would make it ride better and handle tighter on the highway.  But it's also gonna render the frame more fragile and crack-prone than if it just flexed like truck frames traditionally always have.  The Toyota truck's flexing is too much but there's nothing so terrible about keeping some flex in a truck frame.

That kind of tighter perimeter frame structure might really help a fullsize car like a Crown Vic though.  Too bad they finally quit making that platform.

Why does anybody think that any company builds more quality into their product than necessary to market it?

I give full marks to Ford for the new F150 (I got an inside look at the plant, as Ford was a customer when the plant first opened)

Keep in mind while viewing this marketing video that while it may be valid, it has nothing at all to do with the way 99% of truck owners use their 'trucks'.

My '68 D200 will flat smoke any of those trucks in any loaded performance test (except trailering and engine performance, 318 2bbl) but would probably kill the driver while running the test ditch.

I noticed that nobody ran the truck through the ditch while loaded and pulling the trailer...

I hear all the time "Toyota/Honda ... they last forever".  Who ever started that farce is a genius, because some people really believe it.
If they last forever, where are all the 70's and 80's Toyota's and Honda's?  They're not around my area.  They've rusted away to nothing just like any other vehicle.
They don't last any longer than anything else well taken care of today.

I agree, same goes with all the way overpriced used, rusted diesel pickups on the market. I get a kick out of reading those ads on craigslist.
