When you were a kid what was your best present for Christmas?

My best ever Christmas present was a "Johnny Seven One Man Army" gun. The J7 OMA was seven toy guns in one rifle. A true masterpiece of toy weaponry with bullets, grenade launcher, a cap gun pistol that detached from the stock. We played Army growing up and for a 9 year old boy, that thing changed the balance of power in the neighborhood instantly.
Our little rag tag rat patrol of 4 guys Jeff, Billy, Ricky and I had been getting our collective butts beat by the rich kids down the block with their get anything they wanted anytime they wanted it procurement system and larger group of slightly older guys.
It was normal for us to go out to play only to be blind sided ambushed by them (all in great "Combat" style play!) so you always had at least a cap or squirt gun, fully loaded and a trusty rubber dagger. (Preferably the green one with the ball holding claw handle) The battles would end in final hand to hand close quarter screaming tussles, followed by arguments and reviews of who shot who, where and when while drinking RC cola out of plastic canteens and munching on our C rations. (packs of crackers and small bags of peanuts)
That all changed with the Johnny Seven, the hail storm grenades missiles and orange bullets left an impenetrable shield of play power around us forcing retreat or die an indisputable death of dominance. We went on the offensive, hunting down our prey with relentless hit and run attacks until their only desire was baseball.  Good times oft remembered this time of year, What was yours and why?

That is a tough one. In 1979, when I was 6, I received a Star Wars Millennium Falcon from The Empire Strikes Back. I also believe that same year, I also received a huge Tyco racetrack.  Still have both items to this day.

I was 11 and my brother was about 6 and like many kids at the time we loved playing "war". There was an "army" toy kit that had a plastic put tent, canteen, knife, helmet and a rifle. We both wanted our own in the worst way. Well, dear old Mom who just happened to be a former Korean War era lady Marine DI bought us both this "dream" toy. Christmas morning opening our gifts was less than fulfilling and we were grumpy. "Sarg" takes us out the backyard where she had set up both pup tents next to each other in a miltary manner with all our cool new gear meticulously layed out just inside each tent. Its was the best Christmas ever AND we didn't shoot our eyes out!!

Torn between the new Hot Wheel set with dual power houses or when I was 14 my dad bought a 1965 Honda CA110 50cc bike. At the time once again I was punished for something so I had to just look at it in the basement.  :'(

My mom hid the box in our dryer.  When she went out to go shopping my brother and I pulled it out applied the stickers to the houses etc... and played with them. :hah:
