I'm trying to change out two broken stud on my 054 radiator for my '69 C500. Was curious on the securing method the vendor of the radiator used. Was there the smallest of a spot weld or were the studs pressed in? I have new ones from Bob ready to install..

The other stud ground smooth on top/front and drilled out nearly to stud diameter

Thanks in advance,
Troy

:scratchchin: wondered these sort of things  too  , think they were/are attached by electrofusion ( spelling , like a nail/pin from a studgun !!  similar studs that hold the rear lights in the 69 tail panel ,  :scratchchin: never tried it my self  , but think solder should work  :yesnod: :shruggy: or could always drill a tiny  hole & plug weld it  :scratchchin:

Once the stud is drilled out, the remaining head is thick enough to tap 1/4"-20 and install a stud made from all-thread.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
