Are the repro door sill plates that are made today any better than the ones that were being sold 15 years ago?

On a related subject, these don't look like 68-70 sill plates to me.

I have a set of those laying out back. I better go pick them up and take better care of them.  :o
I pointed to two old drunks sitting across the bar from us and told my friend
"That's us in 10 years".
He said "That's a mirror, dip-shit!

Duh, I do now!  :brickwall:

But back to the subject at hand, are today's repro sill plates better than those from years ago?

What was the issue with the old ones?

y3chargerrt

I remember seeing ones that were too thin and way to polished.

To thin & the 1/8" lip that's supposed to be on the outside edge of the sill isn't there.

B-Body plates are next to impossible to find NOS. The E-Bodies are way easier to find and Chrysler was still making them up to a while ago.

Anyone pick up some repo plates lately?   Fit nice?  Thick enough?

Mine are kindy sketchy  :eek2: , but they might be better than the repos.

Can anyone report in?

I've got repo sill plates and they're definitely heavy enough, no worries. I think they're pretty perfect. (and I'm pretty fussy). I bought them over here though so I can't help you out there.

I'm sure mine have come from Legendary Auto Interiors.  Might be worth looking into.
