Well, my wife and her family got me this as part of my Christmas present.  Since I am into that TV show Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi, they thought this would be a cool experience for me.  The place was Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, PA this past Sat, Dec. 18th, 2010.

Here is a link to the you tube that was posted by the investigation group out of Asbury Park, NJ.  You can see me fairly quickly in the shot wearing a Carhartt jacket with a ski cap (it was freakin cold there that night)

The flashlight you see that keeps going on and off is my own personal mini-mag lite.  I was totally amazed at the results we had.  Stuff varying from shadow figures, black masses in certain areas, voices, sounds of water running when there has been no water in that cell for who knows how long, to direct responses to questions using the flashlight.

I can't wait for another one to come along so I can do it.

Oh forgot to add that when we were in cell block 12, we were up on the third floor overlooking the second floor and I was leaning on the railing just looking around after hearing noises and asking if someone was present, that they could make a noise or touch my arm or shoulder and all of a sudden it felt like someone or something lifted my elbow up from the railing.  A short time after, someone else in the group felt something touch the back of his neck.

Pretty cool stuff I must say.

Big fan of Ghost Hunters. Thats looks like it was fun  :yesnod:
I pointed to two old drunks sitting across the bar from us and told my friend
"That's us in 10 years".
He said "That's a mirror, dip-shit!

resq302

Yeh, gotta thank my wife for coming up with that idea.  Either she wanted me to have fun or have a heart attack from being scared to death.     Im kinda leaning towards the first option.   :2thumbs:  All in all, I would do it again in a heart beat!

Brian, that is so cool.
I haven't been to Eastern State Penn in quite a few years. It was creepy enough during the day when we went.
I went because I like abandoned places like that and the history behind them.
I also wanted to see where they shot the institution scenes from "12 Monkeys".
But I'd love to do that sometime ... great gift.

You should check out Letchworth Village in Theills,NY. Its an abandoned insane asylum. There are a lot of buildings, some of them are boarded up, you can access the morgue and some other interesting places.

Now Dan, being in a haunted insane assylum might freak me out a bit more than what a prison would.

cmon,  I wanted the ghost to knock off my hat or do something a lot more than what it was doing.  A simple lift of my elbow is nothing.  Lets see one of them push me or scratch me.  Now were talking!

That's pretty cool Brian!

When I travel I am usually alone and I have found that most cities have "Ghost Tours".  So to kill some time, about $15.00 gets you a 90 minute guided walking tour through a cities famous haunts.  Something to do when you're alone on the road.

chargerboy69

That sounds like a blast. That is great you had some cool experiences.  Would try that myself if I were closer.

I know I would love to do the Ghost Hunting Tour of Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield Ohio.  This is where they filmed Shawshank Redemption.  Ghost Hunters has been there before too.

They also do a haunted house in the fall.
