Hey fellas,

I know some of you have been interested in my stroker build. After months and months of planning and research, years of savings, and a maxed out credit card...I've finally got a running motor. It's not perfect by any means. Plenty of clean-up, tuning, and trouble shooting left. I've got a hydraulic clutch that doesn't work (can't put her into gear), electrical gremlins (horn won't turn off, none of my gauges work, headlights are stuck open and off), an oil leak that I haven't located yet (drips onto my driver's side header near the bottom towards the collector), a broke throttle cable bolt, etc... Anyway, here is the video:

Any assistance you guys can provide, as always, is much appreciated.

Cheers,

Adam

Valve cover leaking?
Have you checked to make sure you have a good ground?
What kind of fuel pump are your running & it looks like you could use a regulator.

I'm hoping it's just a valve cover leak and not something worse. I bought a fuel pressure regulator today...nothing fancy, just a Mr. Gasket until I can afford a nicer one. It's installed just prior to the fuel pressure gauge mounted to the fuel line adapter to the carb. It's a Milodon high volume mechanical pump...no electric pump. I'm thinking ground, too, I just haven't found it yet...and I'm running out of places to look. On that note, I removed my steering column during this whole process and when I went to put it all back together, I found a fusible link that I think is supposed to go somewhere under the dash down there, but I can't for the life of me remember where it came from for sure. I only hooked up one ground wire when I put the steering column back in...are there others?

I would grab a service manual if you don't have one yet. I don't know what that wire is for either but I can't recall one on mine.

Congrats! I won't be there until after the holidays.

Your clutch could have air trapped in a high spot in the line-be sure everything runs downhill all the way to the clutch slave cylinder. Even a short high spot like a loop of line can hold enough air to keep the clutch from working right. I have a factory hydraulic clutch in my pickup, and I know it doesn't take much.

Clutch is fixed! Bleeding the lines again took care of the problem. I finally got to take it for a drive for the first time since the new engine and tranny went in.The problem I'm having now is when I'm trying to maintain a constant speed, I'm feeling a jerking coming from the drive train somewhere. As I accelerate or slow down, the feeling goes away it smooths out. I'm worried that my tranny might not be in line with the engine or that my new drive shaft is not quite long enough. Any ideas how I should go about troubleshooting the problem? I hate to think I'll have to pull the engine and tranny out again, but I will if I have to in order to prevent further damage.
