I had afew cold drafts in the house that when the cold weather did hit us back afew weeks ago, the house got alittle cold. Cold enough that I knew it was time to track them down and fix them. I got afew already repaired but I'm working on one more yet. I'll be back to building the crazy ass models again in afew weeks hear soon as I get the house back up to keeping heat in again .

It's that time of year.   A bit of sealer around windows is the ticket sometimes.

I am not going to live that sofa deal down... am I?  :smilielol:

Well so far you all, I have found around 6 drafts coming from the walls and 2 from the floor area in the livingroom. Now I know I have at least 1 in the kitchen yet to stop. The model room is right now shut down as it's being renavated and should be back up and running about a week into Jan. Most of the projects was box up and moved to a room down the hall. Only afew projects are right now being worked on slowly. I will be back up and building like I was before in afew weeks here so please bare with me for the duration alittle more. I wasn't looking to do this kind of remodel but when the cold weather hited us afew weeks back I couldn't put it off any longer though and knew I had to take alittle time and put things on hold alittle kinda and move things around to get the repairs done that needed done.

Chuck, I hear ya man.

So you all in afew weeks here I will be back to building models like I was before.

Hope you got your drafts fixed Jim. We just did that too! Looks like we've got some roof repairs to do now! Here in the desert we dont usually get that much rain, but its been non stop for the last two days with more coming.......we have two water mark/leaks in the ceiling. One in the dining room. And one above our back slider door by the kitchen. This is bad timing too as chuck has a screwed up back. Im not putting him up on the roof. Mrs.skip68

outlet foam works on the 110v outlets...we did all of ours...fixed a lot of cold air coming in.

or you could use a small candle to find the elusive drafts...see where the draft moves the flame

Man, are we related? it sounds like it. I also have a roof repair to make yet also and snow is starting to hit us up here in PA more and more now. I already told my cousin and a friend of mine that the cold weather didn't bother me neither did the snow as I am willing to get up on the roof and do the work myself which I am always the one doing all my own stuff anyways. I can tell my friend Mark I have stuff house repairs to make or even my cousin and the next thing I know they are gone for afew days, yet I help them out all the dang time though  :icon_smile_dissapprove: . It seems when it comes down to me, It is always only me doing my own stuff. It seems like I am no body.. All we had last month was dang rain rain up the dang ying yang for days stright to a point I took the camera and started to photograph the bad areas around the house.. you can't fix a leak when it's wet so I photoed it for later  :lol:so I knew the locations. I told my friend Mark afew weeks back don't worry he can be lazy all he wants and he didn't have to even help me out and he could stay away like he always did.. he just gave me a strange look. I told my one cousin the same thing and he did the same also. I told them I will do all the f-ing work myself around the house. I know know what you mean about backs being mess up. My back anymore is starting to act up also, but I decided I will just push myself to the limit is all because stuff must get done, if I don't do it then it will not get done. You see Mrs.Skip, I'm the one that does all the work around the house from keeping heat in the house, to all the out door stuff as well to keeping the house up and doing all the repairs myself around the house.. I have no one else.

I'm sure they're just both a little busy atm Jim.

Good luck with yer repairs.
I gotta work out how to keep the dang heat out over Christmas. We're expecting like 39 degrees on Saturday here which is like 110ish in your scale.
Oh yeah, gotta vacuum the pool out too  :flame:
Gotta love a '69

Heck, the last few days round here has been down to around at least 16 degree's at night.. maybe colder. People ask me why didn't I do the repairs back in the summer like everyone would have done or was doing. Like this, in the summers you can not find the drafts very well unlike when your in the winter time, that is when you can find the cold air drafts and where they are coming from. That is why I holded off until winter for to do my house work for. This way I'm not doing double the work, as in redoing things because I did things in the summer when it was nice and warm out and didn't know where the drafts was all at and I now have to redo things.. I just holded off to now to do the work as I knew I needed the cold air to help me find the drafts  :icon_smile_wink: and in the winter time is when you have the most cold air at all times. So for me, now was the right time really to do the house work that I needed to get done, as when I get a draft repaired in an area the cold air stops coming in, in that area. Besides I'm use to the cold weather anyways so it kinda doesn't effect me, but it does on the projects though how ever.

Now, about both of them being busy, yea, right. I been askinb them for at least afew years now.. nothing. I even tried personally myself and all I get is and was laugh at. To a point I just kinda gave up. Almost all the ladys that stopped in, was only interested in the dang charger. To a point I have made my mind up this spring that the car will be getting major work done to it. Some work people might not even like at all I will just put it that way.
