To start out here is one of the Dodge Trucks I have. Its a 98 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, It has a 360 V8, with a Meyer plow set up.

I have ask since I have been seeing more truck with stacks.  Are they for sound, looks or performance?

Thanks.  For me it was about the look and sound. Those are 6 in, and My Peterbilt has 7 inch straights because I have always liked the look of straight pipes and the sound.

 How do you get dual exhaust with only a straight 6 ?  The exhaust only comes out of one side.

The exhaust comes up through the right side of the bed. then it is split with a "Y" pipe. Just like they do it one Big Riggs.

 IMO.... Maybe a V8, Diesel or gas but not a straight 6 (waste of money). However, to each his own and I still think it looks cool.

99 Ram 1500  360 with about 150,000 on her.  Fenders are about to fall of but it runs great!

 Quality is job none. 
I have a 03 Jeep wrangler and it already looks like a rust bucket...WTF, is going wrong at the plant with quality parts that are prone to rust.
