If I could drive a bike like that (it's good that I haven't learned) I'd strip down naked with just a pair of riding boots, helmet and possible gloves and drive right up to a cop in a speed trap.  Pull over and give him/her the finger, stroke myself a few times in his/her general direction and then crack the whip!

Then giggle about it and possibly brag about it a few years later.

Sure. Teach 'em a quick lesson and purify the gene pool for only the cost of one car door. :2thumbs:

That's ok, these idiots usually take care of themselves eventually. Too bad they often take innocent bystanders out in the process though.

you do know that in some states/most countries lane splitting is legal right?  albeit not at high speed, but the act is legal nonetheless.

also, more motorcycle riders are killed yearly by idiot drivers than drivers are killed by idiot motorcyclists.

I'd like to see a link to a story proving the picture you posted was an accident caused by the motorcyclist.

I don't particularly care for other motorcyclists splitting traffic when I'm in the cage, however, a big part of that is due to the fact that it isn't a common occurence for me, because it's illegal in Texas.  Most of the riders I know that do split traffic are younger and think they're invinceable; unfortunately you can't tell them anything because kids know everything.  Eventually they lose a close friend to something stupid that could have been avoided and then in a lot of instances they freak out and sell their bike, etc. etc.  Responsibility and maturity just can't be taught to a lot of these people, and they make life-altering mistakes.  I don't see that as a reason to actually attempt to kill them.

edit*:  link to motorcycle statistics....

And I was able to and did have one, and did the dumbest stuff on that bike.  I thought nothing of doing 120 down the street I grew up on.

Of course now, when I would be a responsible rider, will the wife allow me to own such a item.  That would be "No".

I really don't think I need one. Just looking at the pic I think it's quite obvious that the guy was doing well over just about any posted speed limit (other than the autobahn) to bury his bike inside a car that far. Don't you? Do you really believe he was traveling a safe speed to be able to punch his bike through the entire width of the car?

Here's another big jackass for you: http://www.snopes.com/photos/accident/tulsacrash.asp

I think it's stupid to defend these idiot punks that risk their life and the lives of others on public streets and think it's just good clean fun. If they were obeying the laws much of this carnage wouldn't be happening.

if you're attempting to use that picture as proof of your statements, then yes, you do need one.

apparently you opted not to look at the link I posted, that's ok.  If most automobile drivers were obeying laws more carnage wouldn't be happening.  You post these shocking pictures and statements as if it's everyone on a motorcycle doing these kinds of things and don't care to look at the numbers.

anyway, you seem to be mistaking me as defending the poor decisions made by a select few motorcycle riders.  after rereading my post, I simply don't know what gave you that idea.

as far as speed being travelled in the picture, without a link to an actual story, you don't know where the  accident took place, or the speeds being traveled, or mistakes made by either vehicle operator that led to this outcome.  based on the cross-sectional width of the car and it's height i think it's possible that motorcycle could have been travelling much slower than you think.  but these assumptions are pissing in the wind without the facts.

feel free to keep posting pictures, but I'd be willing to bet for every idiot motorcycle rider picture you post, 2 idiot driver pictures could be found.

you still haven't justified the attempted murder of a motorcycle rider.  are you sure you're not just pissed off that you have to wait in traffic while they're getting through?

what is with your hatred of motorcycles anyway?

If you're really dilusional enough to be unable to discern that the rider in the above pic was going way too fast I don't think a link is going change your mind. Does it look to you as if he was doing 45 mph or something and the car just turned in front of him? The car may be a $hetbox but I know you can't cut through one if you're only doing 45, or 60 or IMO even 80. Looks to me like he was doing well over 100 and had no time to react to a driver that probably knew he wasn't there three seconds earlier.

Attempted murder? What are you talking about? You're missing the point. The point is that if anything out of the ordinary happens to this idiot in the youtube link, such as someone opening a door, tossing a banana peel out, turning left without remembering to signal, turning quickly to avoid a road hazard, whatever, he is screwed. And most likely a bystander will get hurt or killed and his property destroyed. You seem to think if any of these type of things happen, which they often do, it's the car's fault for being unpredictable. Yea, when you're riding at three times the speed of the traffic around you and three times the logical speed you should be going then you deserve the brunt of any unpredictable action that occurs within the 2/10 of a second you have to react.

^ opening a car door in traffic for no reason other than to screw with someone can be construed as attempted murder, that's what I'm talking about, that's what started this conversation.

I do appreciate the personal insults while trying to have a decent discussion, however, I don't think you'll get the points I'm trying to make so I am going to bow out and just say you're right, I'm wrong; let's get back to talking about chargers

Well I have to say I'm extreamly careful checking my mirrors for lane splitters as there's plenty of them here abouts and I've still nearly nailed a few,.. scared the crap out of me... and on the subject of the Video, did it look to anyone else like at the 3/4 point he scraped or dented  a few cars, one really bad?..  :shruggy:

Sorry, man. I'm just the type who enjoys seeing stupid/bad/arrogant people get what they've got coming to them. Some people don't care for that attitude but it is what it is. I enjoy the concept of pedophiles, rapists and murderers getting strung up by their ball bag too. I was half joking when I wrote what I wrote above but the truth is I really would have liked to see the jackass do an endo. Would have served him right.

And to what personal insults are you referring to? If you think the rider in that pic above was traveling at a safe speed when he cut through the black car you are delusional or in serious denial. Not an insult, it's the truth. Can you honestly argue otherwise?
