WOOOHOOOO! Today I drove the Charger for the first time since I got it about five years ago. I'm on cloud 9 right now!  :icon_smile_big: Took a video too, though I guess that was technically the second drive.

Gotta get an alignment first thing and tags are in the mail!

Nice!  :2thumbs: I know that feeling but for me it was kinda different I bought my 72 back in 98, it took about 6 weeks to finally get it from the guy and when I drove it away I realised..."This is the first time I've driven the Charger..." yup, my first drive was the drive home

dads_69

Diggin' the slots on your car.

:iagree:

:iagree:

The slots ("mags" back in my day) are not a good look usually, but they do look really good with the red body.  :Twocents:
Congats on getting it on the road.  :drive:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Thanks for all the cheers everyone!

I drove it a lot more today and while I've still got a lot of tuning to do, this puppy will roll! I'm going to get an alignment on Friday but couldn't resist driving it a good bit. I have to say I've got it tracking pretty straight for just estimating by eye! I'm still not completely legal . . . I need to get the headlight wiring harness, mainly because I need front turn signals. It will be nice to drive at night too though so I will get the headlights sorted out shortly. I have both turn signals working though with the rear lights but for some reason when I hit the brake only the driver's side lights up..  :shruggy: I've also got to play with my kickdown linkage, get the rear brakes working, and sort out a billion other small things but FINALLY after five years it's on the road! I will get some pictures and videos up after I've got it in proper driving shape and clean it up . . . it's a mess with all the dust and dirt from the garage and all the shit I've got laying around in the interior. Finally, I need to get the damn heater tested/rebuilt, hooked up, and working. It's damn cold driving around right now and it's more drafty than a lean-to in there.  :eek2:

Just be careful with that red hot rod there - the cops will be all over that thing in a heatbeat.
Glad you finally got it mobile though, and you did it yourself too.  :yesnod:
