Grill bolts

 On the 69 grill bolting up the sides to the center section what are the size bolts to use. The ones that came out where a lot smaller in diameter than the holes in the grill. A 1/4 inch bolt will go through both sections but was wondering why the original were smaller than 1/4 inch.

When I restored the grille on my 69 all of the fasteners were the originals. They are smaller than the openings they pass through so you can align the pieces before tightening. (don't over tighten) If you think the fasteners on your car aren't stock, buy a new set from R/T Specialties and others. Good luck.

most of the grille hardware is 10-24 , length and style will vary by location on the grille
