Some people say you can't stretch a rod - I guess I'm now in the camp that says you can. I over-revved a 383 trying eek out a better time drag racing 8-9 years ago, and it came away with a knock. I finally disassembled it as I need an engine and found the culprit: #7 rod end at the piston pin is ob-longed by 3 thou.

Does anyone out there have a nice, clean stock 383/361/400 rod they are willing to sell and mail?

Casting # is 1737692, which the Governor's White Book says is 1962 361/383, 1963-1966 361, 1963-1971 383, and 1971-1974 400. Any of those should do.

None of my Mopar contacts around here have any, none on craigs list local, there are a few on eBay I might pull the trigger on if nothing comes up. Thanks for looking.

I'm checking with a local Mopar guy today. He mainly has 440s but messes with anything. I only have a complete 383 so that doesn't help.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Will check my stuff, have some 383s around, & some loss rods.
