About a year ago I saw a video clip of this one running, some of you may remember too. Now he's been working hard updating his site to show & tell about all the internals of the engine...pretty friggin' cool! :yesnod:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I just had to stop in here to see what this was about. Knowing you it would be about small people building engines. ;) ;D

That'll get you started.   These are all from my favorites list.   There is also a bi-monthly magazine called Model Engine Builders that you can subscribe to.   Every issue gets a set of plans to build an engine of some kind.   It's a fun hobby but you can't hash one of these engines out in a couple months.   It generally takes at least a year on the simple engines and up to 5 on others.   I know one guy that's builiding a model right now of a steam boat engine and he has spent over 15 years on it.   It's still not finished.     :o

BTW that engine probably isn't a Hemi as you are thinking of it.   It's an engine called the Challenger that isn't based off any production engine ever made.   They are flatheads but you can upgrade to the valve in head (shown) and a blower (also shown).    Oh and the most power any of these engines make is about 5-7 hp.  They simply aren't strong enough to handle much power.  Most of these engines you have to fabricate your own crank.
When I was just a very young lad I looked up and told my dad, a bareback rider's what I wanna be.  I want the whole world to know about me.  In the rodeo arena I'll make my stand.  I wanna be a rodeo man.  I'll come flyin' from the chute with my spurs up high, chaps and boots reachin' for the sky.  Spurin' wild with my head throwed back, you'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.  You'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.

Holy crapolee, Man! That's quite a list! :o
After looking at some of those sites, I can understand why building model engines could become time consuming...cheaper than restoring a Charger too. ;D

So...do you have a mini engine you're working on?

If the block would handle it my buddy works at a machine shop running their 5-axis CNC machine. If he machined the parts I'm sure I could get a little more than 5-7 horses...  :scratchchin:

I'm not working on an engine by myself right now.  I'm helping my brother build a 1/4 scale Mogul engine.  The Moguls were originally made back around 1915 or so.  I want to do the Gatling Gun when I have a chance but I've got too many projects going on right now to take on another.

Yeah the whole engine is weak.  The crank is usually the first to go simply because most home machinist can't do the really hard material that you should use.  If you put a crank in that was actually built like it should be then the the bottom end on the block would split.  These things are mostly just toys and can't be used for anything.  The exception is the Gatling Gun.  It fires .22 and it's just like a bunch of rifles put together so it'll be fine.
