Hood Pins Question

This might be a silly question, but to you guys with hood pins . . .

Do you run the original latch setup and the hood spring in combination with the pins or not?

Not a silly question.  Most of the hood pin setups still have the original latch and spring in them.  There are a  few that eliminated the latch but not many.

Thanks for that. I have the original latch and spring and decided to go the hood pin route with all of the stories I've heard and hoods I've seen, plus I like the look. With the OE latch AND the pins I ought to be able to have my peace of mind.

I'm putting the factory hood pins back on my Challenger. I was told you have to have the latches there for support. Because the hood pins will pull down the on the front center of the hood.

they came with latch. If somebody removed its on his own, but factory never removed latch.

Just 4 pin fiberglas hoods were from fact without latch, but I guess not Chargers ( Bees and RRs ? )

Daytonas only have the saftey latch along with pins. No primary latch though.

Challenger TA's didn't come with any latch or retainer except for the pins.
