I have a few friends that are firm believers on Chemtrails.... I just can't get into this conspiracy theory.... because of the diverse and often "opinionated" group on this forum... i figured I would spin the top and see where is sets.

So what's the latest prevailing theory? They're crop-dusting us with a mind-control substance or something to give us cancer or what? I don't really see the logistical probability of commercial airliners being able to carry enough chemical to spray the nation from one end to the other. I also don't see the logic in the government making the public sick when it needs all the payroll taxes it can get its hands on to pay for, among other things, toxic chemicals to spray on the populous.

One theory I've heard that sounds plausible is that under certain unique atmospheric conditions, at the altitude these aircraft fly, the vapour trials don't dissipate as they normally would and you end up with a crisscross pattern from several planes transiting the same general airspace over time.

This is one of those rare conspiracies that takes a simple thing and turns it into a complex, overblown explanation. As opposed to most, which take a complex issue and find a simplistic explanation.

Forwarded emails are a great source of "news" for lots of people. Especially older people it seems. Whatever comes into my mom's inbox she seems to think is true. What's funny is I'll send her a snopes link that debunks it (whatever "it" is) and then the confusion starts. Somehow it doesn't seem crazy to her the story about people in Walmart parking lots walking around asking you to smell some "perfume" that causes you to pass out but when I tell her it's BS with a snopes link she becomes suspicious of snopes.

I missed how we made the transition from contrails to posting "Christians are Crazy" links.

I always thought contrails where the by product of the the water vapor in the turbine engine exhaust suddenly being exposed to the  30 to 60*  below zero F. temperatures normal at cruising altitude. How long it takes them to sublimate depends on the temperature, humidity and sunlight conditions at the time.

I know there had been some discusion of spreading the airliners routes out to use the contrails to reflect some sunlight and possibly reduce global warming.
I think the plan died with Al Gores credibility .

The other day I gave the Copilot a break and did the preflight walk around. The fueler was busy pumping the required fuel load on board. I asked  what was new in the Jet A business. Same old , he replied. Any new additives to the fuel? I asked. He stopped smiling and mumbled ," Don't know what you  are talking about" then walked over to the fuel truck and started talking to someone on the radio. As I walked past the tail of the aircraft I noticed some new pipes on the back of the horizontal stabilizer that looked like a crop dusting rack that I had not seen before. I ask a nearby Maintenance Technician about the pipes and he said  it was a new deice system they where trying and not to worry , then he walked away talking on his radio.

Driving home later I noticed a black helicopter flying along the interstate. I thought it might have been a speed trap ,but the ODOT aircraft are Scarlet and Grey Cessna's. As I approached my driveway I noticed an all black Suburban across the road with a couple of guys in it taking pictures. As I slowed to turn in my drive ,they took off in a hurry....

Weather modification using aerosols is very real and well documented. That being said, contrails have been around since man took flight in high powered airplanes.

He has an old underground fuel tank buried on his Father's land so when the battles start he will have a bunker to live in. He collects dried beans and bullets. Smokes dope every day and (did you see this one coming?) lives at home with his Mom.
As long as he believes, he's free to be a F'in, lazy a$$ bum. It's all about mental illness blended with stupid.
