Favre may have lost a step, but he is still the best QB the Vikes have. Even Aikmen says they wouldn't have gone after Brett if Jackson was worth anything.

If you watched last year, Rice, Shiancoe and Harvin were all threats. Berrian was a bust and still is. We also had a back in Chester Taylor that could block on third downs as well as be a legitimate catch and run threat. Now we have Harvin, who has been playing while pretty banged up and Shiancoe, who was hurt earlier as the only threats in the passing game. Those other guys are 2nd string receivers at best. Peterson is a good back, but he sucks at 3rd down blocking. On top of that, we lost our center and moved guys around in the front line for some time this season. Favre has spent more time on the ground this year than he did all last year.

Hopefully Frazier will be a better coach, but he has had all season to make changes on the defense and we still suck. Our defense is predicated on corners that can cover and tackle on their own. Allen and Cook are a rookies at conerback and have gotten burned numerous times. Guess which guys were covering the receivers for almost every score yesterday?

You need an offensive line that can block, receivers that can catch and a defense that stops the other teams to make it all work. Last I heard, Favre only plays QB. My

In a way, you gotta feel for Favre. He's officially now one of those old guys that are desperately trying to hang on despite being way past their prime. Sucks, cuz he was a hell of a player and almost universally respected (even I was like "wow" when he destroyed the Raiders the day after his father died), until he started playing the "yes/no/maybe I'll retire" game with the Packers and then went mercenary with the Jets and Vikes. Now he's just an old diva. It's a sad way to end one's career, with a tarnished legacy...

If you want to rate an entire career (or season, for that matter) based on one play, you aren't looking at the overall picture.  He played outstanding for the majority of the season... based on that, anyone other than a Drew Brees fan could be eating the same sour grapes you are (and we can see how much they have to cheer about THIS year).
