Will these wheels work on a charger?

Here is the wheels that I found on craigslist 15x8 and 15x7. Is the offset correct for the charger?

http://www.hotrodhanks.com/products/wheels/searchType/searchByManufacturer/manufacturerID/154/productID_/4424

It comes with 4 wheels and tires (255/60/15) and (235/60/15), with lug nuts and center caps for 450 dollars. Is that a good price?

Thank you,
Miller

I guess the question I am really asking is does 15x7 with 3 in backspacing and 15x8 with 3.2 inch backspacing work on a charger? Will they fit in the fender wells?

Typically I've found that most guys on the site usually come close to splitting the difference on the backspacing. So if your wheel is 8-inches wide the backspacing is around 4 to 4.5" I would say the BS on that 15x8 especially is not enough and the outside of the tire is going to be out too far and probably rubbing on the edge of the quarter panel.

Would having 3.2 inch backspacing on 15x8s be similar to 5 inch backspacing on 15x10s?

That is what I figured, the only reason I ask is because I have seen some people running 10 inch wide tires with 5 inch backspacing meaning the front of the wheel sticks 5 inches past the hub, 8 inch wheels with 3.2 inch backspacing would have 4.8 in past the hub. I thought that would have the same result. I am not an expert however, and I thank you for your insight.

That's a decent point. I can't say your logic is necessarily flawed but it's definitely not the optimum offset on that size of wheel when it comes to form and function. Many of those 10-inch wheels have issues with rubbing and you'd be pushing it for clearance on the outside while sporting a gaping space on the other.

I have/had 3 3/4" BS on 15"x8" wheels on my 68 (and on my 73 Barracuda). Anything wider than about a 255/60-15 tire probably won't work on the rear. These hit on my Barracuda but looked to have plenty of clearance on my Charger (although I never measured it exactly). Any backspacing less than that (like the 3.2" you mentioned) will push the wheel very close to the quarter (or hit it). You want 4 1/2" BS on an 8" rim to get it "centered" in the wheel well. A 10" rim should have 5.5" BS but then it starts to get real close to the springs which may be why some people go with 5" BS on those. Tire width would be roughly the same so you're just using the BS to shift the tire n/out in the wheel well.

The fronts may actually fit a Charger. I was running 235/60-15 tires the front looked to have plenty of clearance. A 7" rim would need about 4" BS to be correct so you'd be pushing it out 1" - but mine would have been 3/4" so I don't think that extra 1/4" would hurt too badly. Of course, that 1/4" may be just enough to screw things up too. Don't even think of lowering the car with the tires pushed out that far.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
