well this magazine write up said this car was re-boded a few time  , previously a  71 & 73 charger from memory ,  said cotton ownes built the cars  , wonder if  that car started out as a Daytona or ??  :scratchchin: :popcrn:

The Robbins Magnum started out as the #6 1971 Road Runner that Pete Hamilton drove for Cotton Owens that season.   It was retinned to a Charger in '72 by Cotton and was that way until conversion to the Magnum.    It has no connection to Marty's Daytona.

Do you know the history of the Daytona?

Not really sure.   I always thought it was an Owens car, but was recently told that Marty did not get hooked up with Cotton until after the wing cars were done.

There is some information here at the top of this thread, but as you will read, it is not conclusive, and the thread got hijacked.   However, there are some nice pics of Marty's Chargers through the years.
