Here are a few shots of a wheel I recently completed for a customer in Calgary.I wanted to show you a modification I've been doing more and more on vintage steering wheels.

The owner was complaining about how thin the rim felt so I increased the thickness by about 1/2" so it's more comfortable to grip. This is something that can be done on any non wood wheel and doesn't take away from the original look.

The last picture shows the quality of finish you can expect! ... and no that's not my middle finger !!! LOL

Thanks!  It's much more comfortable for the customer to grip now that it's slightly thicker. The nice thing is, you wouldn't even notice the size difference unless it's right beside a stock wheel. All the trim and horn stuff fits and works like stock so it's kind of a stealth modification.

As you saw on my web site I work on many styles and makes of steering wheels , everything from Plastic, Bakelite and Hard Rubber to Plastic Wood Grained and real Wood wheels. Any of these wheels can be repaired/refinished back to the original look or modified and customized to your specifications.

I hope I can work with you on a project at some time in the future, and yes, shipping can be less expensive in Canada!

Thanks Guys! Here are a few pictures of the wheel back in the car. They were taken at the indoor show in Calgary last weekend.

The owner , Calvin has owned the RR since 1973. He and his brother Mark used to live across the street from me back in the 70's and they both helped me pick out my first set of mag and tires for my brand new 77 Camaro. A great couple of guys to be living across the street from. Mark still owns his 1970 Firebird RA IV car fron the early 70's to now also !

Everyone that saw the wheel had nothing but positive things to say about how it looked and felt in an almost stock interior.

Here are a few pictures of some new wheels I've been working on. These are a couple of 1964 Chrysler steering wheels. Absolutely classic design and square to boot!  It doesn't get much better than this!

The first wheel was originally Brown but the customer had me refinish it in a beautiful pearl/metallic Blue, the second wheel is a solid Black. Check out that reflection !!!

I am looking for a standard wood grain reproduction that looks like yours. Do you know if you knew where to get one. I can not afford 800.00 for original one thanks nice work that's what I want when my 1969 Charger is done wood grain steering wheel  with pistol grip shifter.

They are available from quite a few places but once you see them up close they are quite different from the original wheels. The spokes are much too shiny (should be a nice satin chrome finish) and the wood grain on the ones I've seen was quite coarse and honestly didn't look like wood. At least you have an option if that's the style wheel you want in your car but I think the total price with horn, horn cap etc will be pretty close to what an original wheel would be.
