What did you Black Friday maniacs score today?  I'm guessing more than a few new TV sets.
I want to her from the dedicated shoppers that were up at 3am this morning.

I went over to Home Depot to see if the Air Compressor I want was on sale like it is in the Internet. It wasn't so I grabbed a burger and fries and went home to put xmas lights on my house.

The few parking lots I passed were PACKED.  I'm glad I was not trying to get into the store.

Later in the day I did take a trip to Costco to return a set of chairs my mother in law decided she did n't want. The return line was empty.

Got the lights on my house and my xmas tree w/lights up so mission acomplished for the day.

I was out shopping most of the day.  I am guessing I am one of the few males on this forum who loves to shop.  I was out early this morning, but not 3:00 am.  I did not need anything that much to be out that early.

Never did the black Friday thing, ever. :rotz:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I stayed home, nothing out there is tempting enough for me. Most things I can score on ebay anyways for same or sometimes even cheaper price.

Went out with the Wif this morning, didn't get up till 5:20; pulled into Walmart at 6:10; out of there in a half hour.  Total shopping trip was 3 hours, and we hit 4 stores & McD's!  Not all that bad if you ask me, considering I got sent to Walmart last year; and spent over an hour in line to check out!  Just for a GPS too...    :flame:

I stopped in at the Wal Mart near me at 3 am on my way home from work. Didn't buy anything other than a gallon of anti freeze but the entertainment factor was worth way more than any deals they had which weren't that great. People were in there PJs some about 4 sizes to small sleeping in certain aisles waiting for electronics to open up at 5 am with there hands on a TV box. For some reason all the grocery aisles were individually closed off and you had to let the "security" person at the head of each aisle know what you needed in them before you go down the aisle. Reminded me a lot of a scene that you might see in a Stephen King movie.

My wife went to Target at like 2 am to try to score an LCD 40" Westinghouse 1080p TV for $300 (store opened at 4 am) but two hours early was too late. She messed around between there and another store until 7 am and only brought home one Lego set for our daughter.

I think we've been trying to buy an HDTV for like two years now but as soon as we get a little extra it always seems like some emergency pops up and the money goes out the window.

EDIT** scratch that. It's been more than three years. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,35333.0.html :rotz:

I just read an article somewhere that later in December you will be able to get better deals on them than they had on Black Friday. Had something to do with the new TV market bottoming out now after everyone ran out and got a new one since the HD scare or whatever was that you had to upgrade to recently.

Yea, we'll keep our eyeballs peeled. We wouldn't have had this money had we not gotten an early cash Christmas present so maybe we can add a couple hundred to that and get something really nice.

After the TV she wants a Wii. :P Are there any good killin' games for the Wii?

doctor4766

Excuse my ignorance but WTH is Black Friday and why do y'all need to be up so early for it?

Gotta love a '69

nh_mopar_fan

The stuff that I wanted was all available on-line so no stores for me.

Don't need a new TV but this deal made me think hard about it.

That's one big effing TV.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I went to Sams club for a Garmin gps after 730am.    Easy in / easy out.

Dumbest thing was they had all their "specials" on a table up front,  you had to take a ticket and pay first then come back and show the receipt to get it.  ::)

Meanwhile other folks I know stood out in the rain waiting for Best Buy to open.

I have to wake up at 430 every morning to go to work,   there's nothing I need that badly to get up that early on a paid holiday.

I avoid it like the plague . . . nothing is worth fighting all the crouds and idiots just to save a few bucks.  Never have and never will  . . .  :eek2:

Saw on the news this morning that people were getting trampled at a target store . . . WTF??  A MOPAR store maybe but TARGET??
Tomorrow is promised to NOBODY . . . .

People in 3rd world countries stand long lines to get FOOD, bread, milk and other NECESSITIES. Standing in line for a damn tv is ridiculous....only in America.

The wife & I went out @ 2am for a 3am opening of Kohl's....got everything we needed....ran over to Target for a 4am opening & got 2 of the 4 items we wanted (trying to get 2 cameras but the line for small electronics (cameras & vid games) was ridiculous...we didnt wait) was able to get the 2 HD mini camcorders we wanted.
Then ventured over to Bed Bath & Beyond & got what we wanted there....lastly over to Best Buy @ 5:30....opened @ 5 and still had a line out to Terra Haute to get IN to the store! Said screw that & went back to bed @ 7....woke up @ 11 & went back out shopping!!!
We do it every year...very nerve wracking but you MUST have a plan of attack & a list the day before!

Thats awesome. I wouldn't do it but hey thats what makes this country great.

I worked on decorating the house today. Check.  Just have to work on the X-Mas card mailings and I will be ready for New Years to put it all away.  Ok maybe wrap a present or two somewhere in between.
