Daytona 365 GTB's are nice, I never cared much for the styling of the others.

I read in a Car&Driver article many years ago, that he's got no less than 20 guys working full time to service his estimated 5,000 cars, and spends approx. $2,000 a month on batteries...  :shruggy: I think those figures were from the mid '90s...  :scratchchin:
I'll  do some research..

i wonder if that backlight will work on a Charger Daytona conversion, then we could save on searching all over for Vega plugs.   :shruggy:

That yellow Diablo must have a cracked dash. It has a JC Whitney dash cover on it! Or it has the boat interior package option..........

The 93 Jaguar looks incredible. I hate the Sultan.

Is it me, or is that styling egregiously dated? Reminds me of a prop car in a Robocop-Demolition Man /  in the not so distant future-type movie. You know, when they'd take a brand new car of the time and then modify it to make it look like what they thought cars were going to look like in the future.

Welp, '93 was right in the "Jelly Bean" style Era, designers were finally getting away from the folded paper design (think Lambo) made popular in the late '70s. I allways thought that that Jag. stole a lot of design elements from the '86 Corvette Indy...
That Jag wasn't finally in it's 220 + Production unit run. till well into the '90s... "Jaguar executives who saw the concept were sufficiently impressed to formally commit company resources to producing a car for the 1988 British Motor Show".

Like the Vette Indy It also had appox. 500 H.P. And all wheel drive...  In concept form,.. The reality for both cars would be quite a bit different...

BTW:
" Original customers included Elton John and the Sultan of Brunei. During the mid-nineties, the Sultan of Brunei and his brother Prince Jefri secretly bought hundreds of sports cars and had them custom appointed by various companies. One of these is a custom Jaguar XJ220 that has been heavily modified by Pininfarina. Modifications included fixed headlights, replacing the pop-up versions originally installed, and a redesigned double-vane rear wing"
from the Wiki article.

So I noticed that most of these cars for sale are stock And undriven... The really special cars "One Offs "he had specially modified like the dozens of Ferrari station wagons he favors arn't even in the photos...

Seems they get anal in SA about US cars.
Unless they're converted to RHD you can't do any mods to them away from factory standard.
Sure glad I don't live in a Naz1 state like that.
Gimmie LHD any day.

Really? that sucks for SA American car owners  :brickwall: maybe that's why Darkman is gonna convert his to RHD? (not sure where he's from) I just wonder what they mean by "factory standard"? how are they to know you have a stroker in a stock appearing 440? Nazi state is right! LHD anyday alright!  :2thumbs:

doctor4766

I was mostly referring to non standard wheels, exhaust systems, blowers, brakes and can you believe it, even the colour of the paint!!!
These are things I've been told, not experienced.
But guys like Darkman are willing to go to the expense of the "conversion" so that they can do what evere mods they like.
Doesn't make a lot if sense to me, since I would have thought the original LHD engineering would have been more adequate than any two bit conversion and that the car would retain more of it's structural integrity being left alone.
But this isn't happening in Western Australia so at the end of the day... who gives a?
