Cut the ends off, gut the interior and you've a nice, new covered bridge. :2thumbs: Probably stronger than the previous one too.

Good thing it collapsed when it did. If they had made it across, the bridge probably would have been badly damaged for the next unsuspecting victim.  :o

good point.. didnt think about that.. boy that would have sucked.. unless of course.. the car was a 69 charger painted orange, had 01 on its doors and rebel flag on its roof.  then.. it would be perfectly okay for it would have survived it unscratched. :D

I'd try to leave it right where it is.  It could turn a disaster into good fortune.

Is it just me or does that look like Sarah Palin's profile in the General jumping the creek?

Question #4 Who pays for the bridge?

and who pays for the crane to come in and lift the house :shruggy:
69 Charger 500, original owner
68 Charger former parts car in process of rebuilding
92 Cummins Turbo Diesel
04 PT Cruiser

472 R/T SE

It's obvious the truck driver wasn't going fast enough.   ;)

I hope that wasn't the only bridge crossing otherwise those folks are gonna get wet.  In the NW that would be an astronomical fine for impeding salmon.

Rumour has it Bubba and Bros are now hiding out in Mexico  ;)

Question #4 Who pays for the bridge?

That would depend on how the bridge is rated and if it has the signs up showing load limit. And even if there is a load limit posted there is a chance that home might be under the limit if the county engineer hasn't inspected that bridge in a number of years.

This house was calculated at 149,000 lbs.

It looks like its about to shear off by the garages. I would say the house is totaled.
