The schools in Provincetown Massachusetts has decided to hand out condoms to the elementary school children. The icing on the cake is they are handing these out to the children whether the parents approve or not.  This is just making another case for home schooling our children.  Don't forget, they know better than you do.

That's sick!  In my day (born in 1948) if they tried that in high school the school board members would have been run out of town on a rail.  Hell, I didn't even go through puberty until 12 or 13.  Before that, a condom probably would have just fallen off anyway.  Bob

What a bunch of morons! It's even worse that the decision was unanimous! Why would you give a first grader (or a 5th grader) a condom? It isn't the school board's job to be giving condoms out to kids. That is the parent's job. I guess these people think they know what is best for other people's children. Unbelievable!

You are correct!  If this world would go back to those values there would be many many less problems then we have now.

If there handed out at that age, the kids have to be instructed on how to use them. The only way to do that is to teach them what sex is.  :rotz:
This leads to showing these 1st grader's pictures of naked people, and then the teacher points to the vagina and penis and asks the student's if they know what there for?

If you guys don't think plenty of 6th graders know what condoms are for .  .  .

Maybe I'm alone in this but I don't see the harm in handing them out to kids who are in middle school.  Maybe the 4th graders don't know yet but the 7th graders sure as hell do.

The parents don't have to admit to approving it.  That's the whole point.  The school puts the protection into the kids' hands and the parents can still individually tell their own kids that they didn't condone giving it to them.  That gives the upside of both ways IMHO.

I can remember, back in 5th grade (1986) was when we (my classmates) all started talking about 'doing it', but nobody was actually 'doing it' till 9th grade, when High School started.

No, you're not alone. The site's leftist defense attorney will be along any minute to agree with you.

Didn't RD made a big fuss afew days back over a web site having a book on there web site they was selling? Maybe it's time that he take and start getting at the school board now about this issue as it really kinda falls into the same area but different area though. I mean come on these are kids we are talking about here, they don't need to know this kind of stuff yet about the "birds and the bees" until they get older. I know there is laws and all but if I was a parent and I had a kid at that school I would be going in there to have a friendly talk face to face with the guy in charge there about it. If alot of parents that didn't like this and didn't want there kids to know would show up all at one time I bet that would probably send them a message. I know the adults sends there kids to school to get learn stuff BUT not this stuff though I don't think.  :o

What will they teach the children next? how to steel a vehicle? I shouldn't say that as I sure as heck don't want to give them any dang ideas to teach the kids next.

The idea that the school board should even be talking about condoms at work is ludicrous. They should be talking about test scores and curriculum, not family planning. Public school is a quiet monster that needs killing.

Sorry. I meant to to type first grader's.
Not talking about 6th grader's but 6 year olds. The article state's there is no age limit, so they'll be available to 1st grader's with instruction's on how to use them.

Public school is fine, It's just the freaks that run these schools that need removed from the gene pool.... It's probably all pedophiles that run that school and they figured out a way so they can talk to the kiddies about how to use condoms.

maybe its good the school hands them out. If we gave them to our kids they would lock us up for corrupting a minor. Then they would take the kid away and give him condoms.

I don't agree on it either but at a high school it sure wouldn't hurt. Kids have them at school all the time anyway, and on lunch break how many boys would opt out on getting a piece of ass if they forgot their condom? . Lots of kids have sex 13 and before so that would include some 6th graders. This is interesting.

So you are in a low income neighbor hood and you have a slumber party with eight 6th graders and possibly two of the eight are already horny  :rotz:

anyway.. now, my question is this (after reading the article):

Under what circumstance did the school think it was in their purview to determine or decide that the issuance of condoms to students was their responsibility?

As much as I am wholeheartedly against this idiotic, overstepping of the public schools into the private lives of students and families, I do not think we are getting the whole story, but just snippets in order to bring us into an uproar.

Massachusetts is a very VERY liberal state, so I am sure most of them love being told what to do (not all, just most).  Luckily, I will never have to worry about such idiocy in the state I live in.

Whoa wait..

QuoteThe present order of denominations in this state is: Catholics, 69.2 per cent; Congregationalist, 7.6 per cent, Baptists, 5.2 per cent; Methodists, 4.2 per cent; Protestant Episcopalians, 3.3 per cent.
