What's the bore in my Hemi?

My Hemiblock has PN5153843 stamped on the block and on a green sticker I have PN5155072. That should indicate stockbore of
4.250" but I can only messure 4.222. The surface looks like a finished bore but now I don't know anymoore.

Secondly I checked for Diamond pistons but see that 4.250" pistons are special order, is stock bore not popular.

from what i know (limited) MP block are delivered with a rough bore only...   they need finish bore and hone...

According to my digital "skjutmâtt" you are right but the surface is realy looking like a finish bore.

Per, a "skjutmått", or caliper, is not accurate enaugh way to measure the bore. Very sensitive for holding a little of center, and off angle. Measure with a 3 point micrometer, then you are sure that you get it right

I think your block is 5153943 not 3843.
That's a rough bore 4.24 block.
The 5155072 means it was finished honed to 4.25.
(this is all in my book)

4.25 is the standard bore but most people build strokers (4.15 stroke with a 4.25 bore = 472"), so most piston mfg feel the different compression height is more popular.

The 5153843 is the castingnumber, 5155072 is after some machinework. Since my block has lifterholes bored I guess I have 4.250"

i have P5153843 Hemi block on my charger 4.5bore, it has been used only for 700miles, now I'm buying aluminum block so if some one wanna make 572 Hemi this would do the trick
