Sent this to the stripper, much like my trunk latch, and apparently the rollers for the track are made out of something that disappears when you dip it. Yes,an unexpected magic trick is not what I was anticipating but recieved two. Yes ,the trunk latch has a die cast piece(where the rod goes) and a disappearing act happens when it is imersed in the magic solution (thanks to a member for pointing that out,the die cast part I mean). What are these rollers made of ? Some disassembly wil be required. Fortunately when you pick it up and hold it in a certain position the tracks just fall right out, luckily not on my toes. So that part is already done for me. It looks like if I remove one of the rivets and put the new rollers in as I slide it back together I'll just need to replace the rivet. What (again) are the rollers made of and (if anyone has had these apart) what are the dimensions of the rollers?

For info purposes, there are 4 aluminum glides (slides??) between the top half of the track and the bottom. Two rollers per side. I have attached pics for reference. Any ideas on how to get/make the glides??

Well if you want to send me one of the alum. slides & one roller. I will see about making them for you, at no charge, since you will be my guinea pig on this. Have made some stuff for others on here before. If interested let me know on the site here & will P.M. my address to you. By the way, I am a tool & die maker with 31 years in the trade.

Thank you for the offer. I have already made the rollers, turned out pretty nice. I am attempting the slides now. I have the basic shape done, now it's the nose part of the "bullet" shape.Hopefully I'll know by the end of this (long) weekend. Everyone have a good Thanksgiving.

Once you get the angels figured & laid out, clamp the block in a mill vice end to end, cut the angels, then reset the block & use a radius cutter.

poppa

Thanks for the info,I was thinking the angels should be done first.

New guides would probably help out my loose 6-way track....you can rock seat side to side real easy...real loose on the tracks ...who's making them ;)

Every six way I've touched has some "rock" to
them.

Did your guides fix the rock?

Got it back together, works good. Still has the rock. I can't help wondering if I should have made the rollers bigger than they were....
