Overhere the police would have kept the car untill the whole story was cleared out unless
the current owner confessed he stole the car in 1975 which I doubt he did or????

If the insurance company paid off on it they will have something to say too unless they are no longer in business.

I found this in the thread.

~~~~~~~~~
he only had pip(personal injury protection) which was all that was required in fla at the time so he made a police report and waited well nothing happened until last thursday when he got a call from the Orange county sheriffs department in orlando informing him that they had a stolen car report that matched the vin of his old charger. so on friday he heads to kansas to get his car he was informed by the kansas state pAtrol that the car was in very nice shape. the vin # was held on with j-b weld.
~~~~~~~~~

If this is the case then its the origional owners car.  Come get it.

Very interesting read and discussion going on about this car. It will be interesting to watch the rest of the story unfold.
I pointed to two old drunks sitting across the bar from us and told my friend
"That's us in 10 years".
He said "That's a mirror, dip-shit!
