That town does like to tell its Citizenry how to live. Kind of contrary to what the world believes is a wonderful "live and let live" enclave. Circling the bowl, that City....

look at who's driving most of the big rigs around the US...at least over here...then ask yerself what's really being carried in the back of the 18 wheelers...

when we lived in our other house years ago...we had a "family" move in next door....they immediately built a 6' fence around their entire property....ton's of local taxi cabs all the time over there...I even saw guns being taken into house....I'll stop here for now

I say ship 'em all back...one way

Uh, I meant "Taliban" in a figurative sense. :scratchchin:

The Happy meal thing only shows that the parents of children in San Fran who belly-ache about the meal don't have the fortitude to say "NO" once and a while to their kids........... No body, I mean no body, has a gun to their head forcing them to buy the dang thing......... Unbelievable......

They maybe running another California city too,  say, like. . oh. . . .  Sacramento.  Where the school system would make a 13 year old boy take an American flag off his bike so he would not offend anyone.  :-\

That episode was to "protect" the 13 year old boy (according to a school spokeman  ::)). There were bad racial feelings from certain students about the 13-year old being allowed to fly the American flag, while, apparently on Cinco de Mayo....   Well, you fill in the rest.  :rotz:

Only in California...for now.

I am a staunch anti-circ guy and have been for 40 years.  Parents should not be allowed to cut off their child's penis since there is no viable reason to do so -- let the kid decide when he is an adult.  Same with ear piercing and tattoos -- parents, if you love your kids, don't do it.  And if and when they do it, keep loving them as that too shall pass.  Kim

Lots of reasons to do it, and lots not to. Until the State takes full control of the children it is their parents choice, including piercings, orthodontia, and happy meals.

I am against it as I am against any misguided religiosity concerning children's health -- you see I am a science advocate, believing in western medicine, its vaccinations, its blood transfusions, and most all proven modern approaches.  Having spoken with both uncirced and circed men and their spouses and weighing the pros and cons, I definitely recognize the horror that the child goes through and the lasting, haunting memories.  Not to mention the decrease in sexuality of cut men.  But note that I am only against it because it is not medically necessary and is left to the whim of the populace to decide for the child.  If a person of age wants to do it, go for it.  But parents should not be allowed to disfigure their kids without a medical necessity.  Kim

um i am circumcised.  i do not have any haunting memories, i do not have a decrease in sexuality. and your concept of misguided religiosity is an opinion not a fact.  so.. you have no real facts, but opinions.  you are not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, so your results are not valid nor reliable because you cannot prove that their decrease in sexuality may be due to some other psychological factors or hindrances.

so pretty much.. you have nothing other than your own personal belief to try and state that circumcision is wrong and that because you believe it to be so, you have the right to tell parents what they can or cannot do with their children.

~edit~

so you do not believe in censoring the freedom of speech in regards to a pro-pedosexual.. but its perfectly okay to censor a parents right to have their child circumcised.  i get it.. censorship is in the eye of the beholder i guess.

Sounds to me like you're making an argument against abortion here. Most likely, though, you're ok with disfiguring the whole kid if it's an inconvenience to someone.

My apologies for the tangent. Carry on...

NOW they are going to tell you how to raise your kids. Well at least how to feed them. Let's beat up the poor employees of McD's because they didn't offer you the multiple options on YOUR child's Happy Meal. When I go to get fast food...I WANT THE FRIES!!!!! I don't go that often and when the kids were home...my trip with them was about getting a burger and FRIES!!!! Once every four months is not excessive and I don't feel that I should have to answer to the state/county government that I want FRIES! What's next...well they are now telling the prepared food industry that they have to cut all salt. Just remember this...we are now dealing with many of the children, now adults, who were told throughout school that it wasn't their fault that they couldn't cope...it was their raising, too many hardships, and then fed the "self esteem" with out any thought about what they were creating. A bunch of "it's not my fault, I am entitled, you don't count cause I'm special" morons who have no functional skills. I believe you'd rethink the notion of a book promoting illegal violence if it hit closer to home and could directly effect your wife or kids (if you had any). If/when you have kids, get back on here and tell me how much you're willing to protect the rights of pedophiles.
