That town does like to tell its Citizenry how to live. Kind of contrary to what the world believes is a wonderful "live and let live" enclave. Circling the bowl, that City....

look at who's driving most of the big rigs around the US...at least over here...then ask yerself what's really being carried in the back of the 18 wheelers...

when we lived in our other house years ago...we had a "family" move in next door....they immediately built a 6' fence around their entire property....ton's of local taxi cabs all the time over there...I even saw guns being taken into house....I'll stop here for now

I say ship 'em all back...one way

Uh, I meant "Taliban" in a figurative sense. :scratchchin:

The Happy meal thing only shows that the parents of children in San Fran who belly-ache about the meal don't have the fortitude to say "NO" once and a while to their kids........... No body, I mean no body, has a gun to their head forcing them to buy the dang thing......... Unbelievable......

They maybe running another California city too,  say, like. . oh. . . .  Sacramento.  Where the school system would make a 13 year old boy take an American flag off his bike so he would not offend anyone.  :-\

That episode was to "protect" the 13 year old boy (according to a school spokeman  ::)). There were bad racial feelings from certain students about the 13-year old being allowed to fly the American flag, while, apparently on Cinco de Mayo....   Well, you fill in the rest.  :rotz:

I am a staunch anti-circ guy and have been for 40 years.  Parents should not be allowed to cut off their child's penis since there is no viable reason to do so -- let the kid decide when he is an adult.  Same with ear piercing and tattoos -- parents, if you love your kids, don't do it.  And if and when they do it, keep loving them as that too shall pass.  Kim

Lots of reasons to do it, and lots not to. Until the State takes full control of the children it is their parents choice, including piercings, orthodontia, and happy meals.

I am against it as I am against any misguided religiosity concerning children's health -- you see I am a science advocate, believing in western medicine, its vaccinations, its blood transfusions, and most all proven modern approaches.  Having spoken with both uncirced and circed men and their spouses and weighing the pros and cons, I definitely recognize the horror that the child goes through and the lasting, haunting memories.  Not to mention the decrease in sexuality of cut men.  But note that I am only against it because it is not medically necessary and is left to the whim of the populace to decide for the child.  If a person of age wants to do it, go for it.  But parents should not be allowed to disfigure their kids without a medical necessity.  Kim

um i am circumcised.  i do not have any haunting memories, i do not have a decrease in sexuality. and your concept of misguided religiosity is an opinion not a fact.  so.. you have no real facts, but opinions.  you are not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, so your results are not valid nor reliable because you cannot prove that their decrease in sexuality may be due to some other psychological factors or hindrances.

so pretty much.. you have nothing other than your own personal belief to try and state that circumcision is wrong and that because you believe it to be so, you have the right to tell parents what they can or cannot do with their children.

~edit~

so you do not believe in censoring the freedom of speech in regards to a pro-pedosexual.. but its perfectly okay to censor a parents right to have their child circumcised.  i get it.. censorship is in the eye of the beholder i guess.

Sounds to me like you're making an argument against abortion here. Most likely, though, you're ok with disfiguring the whole kid if it's an inconvenience to someone.

My apologies for the tangent. Carry on...

I hear the undeniable rant of guilty parents who have harmed their male children beyond repair and/or cut men trying to prove themselves with their inadequate "equipment."

me? guilty?  oh man...you are delusional.  I am not guilty that I had my son circumcised.  My parents are not feeling guilty for having me circumcised.

And as for the "inadequate equipment" comment... well... um...sure, whatever.

Sorry folks, the human male (and female) is born as intended and should be left that way until medically necessary.  "nuff said.  Kim

really?  i am going to have to remember that when it does come to abortion, transgender procedures, piercings and tattoo's, fake boobies, hair dye, permanent makeup, plastic surgeries, cosmetic dental work, AND people who suffer from cleft palates.  They can live their life with it the way it was "born" so why mess with it?

I am so mad at my parents that I can't pee straight. When the doctor cut me he must have been distracted for a moment, possibly by a naked nurse,
he slipped with the knife and now I am shorted. So when my son was born I got my chance...didn't work though...he is hung like a horse,
so his girlfriends say. Now put that in your pipe and stroke it.

US funds circumcision to fight AIDS in Zimbabwe
By ANGUS SHAW, Associated Press Angus Shaw, Associated Press
Sun Nov 14, 11:36 am ET

.HARARE, Zimbabwe – The U.S. ranks high on President Robert Mugabe's enemies list, but at ground level it is leading a war on AIDS that may help save the life of 32-year-old Tineyi Marokwe and hundreds of thousands of other Zimbabweans.

The weapon is cheap and simple: male circumcision, considered a significant reducer of AIDS transmission.

In a 10-minute surgical operation, Marokwe recently became one of more than a million Zimbabwean men in the most sexually active age group who are being targeted for circumcision during the next seven years.

Dr. Bill Jansen, a senior American adviser with the U.S. Agency for International Development in Zimbabwe, says trials and circumcision pilot programs in South Africa and East Africa have shown a reduction in HIV infection by 60 percent.

The Zimbabwe program, begun in May 2009, has carried out 12,000 circumcisions. The U.S. spent $6.6 million on it in the first year and more money is promised as the program scales up.

It makes a quiet counterpoint to the stridency of Mugabe's confrontation with the West, primarily the United States and former colonial ruler Britain, over the sanctions imposed on his government because of its human rights record.

So vilified are Western nations by Mugabe that few Zimbabweans realize their continuing aid programs are the mainstay of humanitarian assistance to the troubled nation.

The U.S. is Zimbabwe's biggest aid donor — more than $1 billion since 2002 — and the biggest contributor to nationwide modern AIDS clinics that have tested and counseled 2 million people. This month it pledged another $50 million to its wider AIDS programs that include supplies of AIDS drugs.

While Mugabe has done nothing to hinder the program, some volunteers assigned to explain sexual health issues to the poor have been accused by Mugabe's supporters of abetting a U.S. political agenda and working for the opposition in next year's election.

Marokwe says he was afraid to go to the clinic in western Harare, the capital.

"I was worried, but when I came here I learned this could save my life," the unemployed laborer told The Associated Press.

Nurses unpacked one of 60,000 single-use circumcision kits allocated by USAID — forceps, disposable scalpels, needles and gauze — and administered local anesthesia while surgeon Shame Dendere exchanged cheerful banter with Marokwe.

He was told to expect minor pain after the anesthetic had worn off, to abstain from sex for six weeks and to come back three times for follow-up treatment.

The procedure complete, Marokwe dressed and headed to a bus stop to ride home, saying "I'm going to tell all my friends."

The clinic conducts more than 40 procedures a day and expects demand to grow to as many as 180 a day as word spreads.

If the program can circumcise 1.2 million Zimbabwean men by 2017, 750,000 new HIV infections can be averted, Jansen said. The organizers envisage a future stage for the program with circumcision at birth. At present more than 10 percent of Zimbabwean men are circumcised, mainly in tribal ceremonies during early childhood.

While condoms and fidelity remain essential, circumcision helps because the foreskin is more vulnerable to the AIDS virus.

According to Population Services International, an independent family planning and sexual health organization, Zimbabwe's infection rate is about 13 percent of the population, but rises above 20 percent in the 13-30 age group.

The circumcision is free, with USAID picking up most of the cost, helped by the international Population Services group and health care charities, but a nominal fee is being considered because "when something is free, there is a tendency for people not to attach any value to it," said Roy Dhlamini, a PSI social worker.

He said when the U.S. government provided free condoms, many Zimbabweans shunned them. That changed when they were priced at a token 10 U.S. cents.

Besides performing circumcisions, the doctors must cope with misinformation: that foreskins are used in healing rituals and witchcraft, in skin grafts or skin lotions.

"We've seen this in the media and heard it in our interaction with communities," Jansen said.

Fred Togara, 36, a brick maker and father of two, said he knew little about circumcision other than from verses he read in the Old Testament.

He said that after a policeman friend who got circumcised told him about the U.S. program, "I wanted to do this process for hygiene and put safety first."

look at who's driving most of the big rigs around the US...at least over here...then ask yerself what's really being carried in the back of the 18 wheelers...

I say ship 'em all back...one way

The day after Halloween I was at the local Salt Plant waiting to give them a railroad switch of their cars.   Osama Bin Laden walked in to the shipping office. We all cracked up. Thought it was funny that this dude was still wearing his Halloween costume but he was just a trucker! Wearing the robe and the rag on the head.

We are over in Afgan looking for Bin Laden and he's here in the states screwin it down on the superslab in his Peterbilt.................

Better hope one of these dudes doesnt get to haul a trailer of fertilizer. Make a detour somewhere for a few hours to add to it and they'd have one hell of a OKC bomb deluxe to truck right on in to a big city.
