Need helping looking for into on this little single shot .22 for a friend on another forum! The only thing stamped on the gun is SAFARI (101) and it's near impossible to find info on it. Hoping someone here might have a direction to go in.

The knob at the end of the bolt to cock the hammer is unlike anything Ive seen before. Wondering when and where it was made and by who.

I bought two Romanian army training .22's about ten years ago that look very similar, with cocking knobs and straight-grained stocks. I don't recall the manufacturer but it wasn't 'safari'.

It looks just just like a Marlin 22 that I had back in the 1970's. It was my "cowboy" days in my 20's, I didn't know squat about guns then, or now. But I swear it's a Marlin, circa 1979. Cost all of $22.95.

Looks like a Cugir Romanian army training rifle. Couldn't say anything about the year though.

Ive looked at more Romanian Training Rifles than I care to see in a life time :D

It appears though that they are all magazine fed with self cocking bolts. Unless there is an older type in which case I never found a picture of one.
